It does what it says on the tin it is an excellent lens and is just what I was looking for.

J'ai acheté cet objectif avec un Canon EOS 550 D. en 2013. la motorisation de l'autofocus fonctionne désormais de fa?on aléatoire. Le prix est exorbitant pour une durée de vie aussi courte.
The Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II ($199.99 direct) is the standard kit lens that is bundled with APS-C Canon EOS D-SLR cameras . When you buy it along with a camera it only adds about $100 to the price, and at that price it's a bargain.
Sharp; Light; Inexpensive; Optically stabilized
Noticeable distortion; Front element rotates during focus; Plastic lens mount; Slow aperture

it is working fine, however it produce a little more noise than the original (from the motor inside the lens when refocusing). also missing some markings on the outer ring, such as the parking dot.
This is a great lens for beginners and the focal lengths quite handy for walk around shooting (good wide angle at 18mm and reasonable magnification at 55mm) and learning the art of photography.
