Weak Casing

I purchased this to replace original kit lens. My first one was not a version II. Autofocus quit working on original lens. Not sure what all the differences are (if any) but this one does seem to be built a little better (focus ring seems tighter). Nicer lens cap (pinch-type).

It is a good lens.

I received an EF-M lens instead of an EF-S lens. The lens looks great, but it just doesn't fit my camera.

it is working fine, however it produce a little more noise than the original (from the motor inside the lens when refocusing). also missing some markings on the outer ring, such as the parking dot.

Despite a compact, lightweight design that makes it highly portable, this lens includes a newly developed image stabilization mechanism. The IS provides camera shake compensation, enabling natural looking photos in dim environments under existing light.

Centre resolution is very good but corner sharpness is disappointing....

This is a great lens for beginners and the focal lengths quite handy for walk around shooting (good wide angle at 18mm and reasonable magnification at 55mm) and learning the art of photography.
