Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS ($499.99 direct)  isn't the newest lens on the block, but it's still around despite a newer version being available. The newer lens is the Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM -it's $50 more, and its STM motor delivers smoother video focus when used with a...

Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS

The Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS is an older lens that lacks STM focusing capability, but is still a step up from your D-SLR's standard kit lens.
Pros:
  • Very sharp
  • Long zoom range
  • Optically stabilized
Cons:
  • Lacks STM capability
  • Some distortion

Not worth the money

I have owned a Canon EF-S 18-135 for 18 months. I would categorize this lens as "adequate" as a kit lens, but not worth purchasing separately. The build quality is reasonably good but not great, and the image stabilization very good, but unfortunately the other features are limited and the optical...

Taking photos is my hobby so I'm not planning to buy super expensive lenses but if you are looking for a nice and cheap...

Nice Product

It?s a simple prime lens and takes pictures with astonishing clarity. It?s one of those lenses that almost all professional photographers have in their kit. This lens is worth the price. Pics are coming out with very good image quality compared to the standard kit lenses.

Good replacement for kit lens

I'm a casual amateur photographer. I photograph my children, landscapes and animals. The lens is a bit expensive, but it gives me greater range than the kit lens which I need for even casual photography. The lens is light and easy to use.
Pros:
  • Consistent Output
  • Lightweight

Nice versatile lens

I broke my old 18 - 55mm lens and bought this one as a replacement due to being 18 a 135mm and not having to change lenses as often. It works well. It is much bigger and heavier though.

Good Starter lens

This lens has a good focal range but with a constant vignetting problem. The auto focus works well in daylight, however searches too much in less adequate outdoor and indoor lighting situations. The lens is built well despite the other issues and would make a good starter lens.
Pros:
  • Good focal range
  • quick image stabilization
  • Sharp images
Cons:
  • Slow Auto-Focus
  • Vignetting
