After procrastinating for quite some time because I do have a large range of Canon lenses for my cameras, cost etc I took the plunge and bought this. Thus far all my test images are superb with a real difference when compared with other images with other lenses. I just wish I had not waited so long.
It's the Canon 70-200, is there really more to say haha The lack of IS while there are times when I'd like to be able to use a 1/120 or 1/160 shutter hand held at 200mm I've honestly managed to work around it just bumping the ISO slightly on my camera.
I like the lens
I'm only 14 and I got this lens for Christmas. I couldn't be happier!!! It's a great lens but not the best aperture range [only going down to 4]. But still a great lens!!!
I purchased this lens 6 months ago. I used it seriously last week for our Ganddaughters prom pics & WOW they were almost 3D. The colours/ sharpness are absolutely superb. the lens clips & sits onto my D70 nicely. Shooting hand held f4 on a cloudy day was not a problem at all.
I had bought 70-200/2.8 lens many years back. When my daughter became interested in wildlife photography I wanted to buy 70-200/4. for her. Then this low price offer came and bought it.. I already knew quality of this lens,
It's the IS in the name that distinguishes the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM from the cheaper 70-200mm f/4L USM. The lenses are virtually the same size and shape, but the more expensive of the pair comes with built-in 4-stop image stabilisation (IS).
The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM is just about the cheapest lens in its class, but are its images top quality or bargain basement? Not only is the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM the least expensive 70-200mm lens on the market, it's also the cheapest glass in Canon's professional L-series range, making it...
The Canon telephoto delivers fabulous image quality through its zoom range, along with the some of the best lab scores for sharpness for a lens of this type.
Sharpness across the zoom range; weather sealing; autofocus speed
Good but not great for chromatic aberration
