CANON EF 24-70 mm f/2.8L II USM Standard Zoom Lens
Pros:
- It's just a beautiful quality piece of glass
- no noticeable lens distortion or aberration - expensive but you get what you pay for with Canon..
Cons:
- Very expensive

I use the lens on my 5d MkIII and there is a noticeable difference between it and my Tamron equivalent that I'd been using for 3 years. The Tamron 24x70 has stabilization and I still get better results with this Canon lens in comparison.

So glad a bought it!
Wow! Amazing lens! I thought long and hard before deciding to buy this lens due to its high price but I'm glad I finally bought it. It's razor sharp and the AF focus is deadly accurate. I was a little concerned about the weight but it's not as heavy as I thought. I highly recommend this lens!

Only missing image stabilization...
Such a great lens to shoot with, however my ONLY CON is that 3rd party manufacturers are including image stabilization. Wish I could only give 3.5 stars for this reason. Image quality is 5 stars, features are 3.5. For the price Canon, we would like you to meet what the underdogs have achieved.

Fantastic Lens
I love this lens, I just used it to photograph a firework display and walking around at a festival, i am absolutely delighted with the images. Its sharp and very consistent !! I bought the Sigma Art 50 but returned it as the image quality just wasn't what you get with a canon L lens.

Stout & sharp
Stunning detail and as sharp as my 16-35 f4 IS USM. Good for portraits with wide f2.8 aperture, so get out of focus background. I'll probably miss it not having IS as I like to push the limits - just need to remind myself of the old days, before IS.

Excelent Workhorse
If I had to pick only one lense for the rest of my life, It will be this one. Its my workhorse for fashion photography and editorial work. Very versatile, I've shot fashion campaigns inside cars and move to tight portraits with the same lens

it's the best general Canon lens ever. It's good for everything- reportage, weddings (you have just one lens- it you can use it for the whole day), family and children photography. Food photography is also ok with this, but anyway i would want some macro lens for the best food pics.

Best thing I have ever bought!
It is extremely sharp and great colours. Though I had a soft corner for mark I since I was under the impression it had a better construction. However, after I bought this I realised it is a false impression. it is well built. The output is amazing.
