This lens owns.

One of Canon's best lenses for portrait work. 135mm can be too long for some, but this lens is great in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. Definitely not the lens I'd recommend for a beginner! on a crop body this lens is effectively a 216mm f/2 lens and that rocks.

fast aperture; snappy focusing; great color & contrast

doesn't do the dishes

Absolutely the best lens for the money!

This is one of the best portrait lenses I have ever used. I t is a staple in my bag for every shoot. If you shoot sports inside then this is a must have as it is fast and razor sharp wide open. Add to that the price and it is a killer deal!

Consistent Output; Durable; Quick Focus; Sharp Focus; Stunning bokeh

Canon EF 135mm f/2 USM L (full format) - Review / Test Report

The mechanical quality of the lens is truly excellent thanks to quality materials, tight build tolerances and a smooth and well damped rubberized focus ring. The lens has a "true" IF design so it does not change its physical length and the front element does not rotate during focus operations.

Canon EF 135 mm f/2L USM

However, will a lens, designed to cooperate with a roll of photographic film, manage to cooperate well with digital detectors The 135 mm focal length is a portrait classic but only on full frame.

high build quality; excellent image quality in the frame centre; very good image quality on the edge of the frame; chromatic aberration amounting to zero; imperceptible distortion; splendidly corrected coma; negligible astigmatism; low vignetting on the APS-C sensor; fast; accurate and silent...

resolution on the edge of full frame at the maximum relative aperture a bit below decency level; huge vignetting on full frame by f/2.0; work against bright light could have been better

Great lens, worth every cent.

This is a great lens, the focus is quick and accurate as well as being one of canons best primes. Highly recommended.

Sweet Lens!

I was very happy with my purchase. This is one fantastic lens! It focuses fast, it's super sharp and the bokeh is amazing. Abe's had the best price and they shipped it fast. I couldn't be happier.

Fast / accurate auto-focus; Lightweight; Nice Bokeh

Fast, light and sharp as heck. I love using this lens to cover the beam routines in gymnastics. the f2 vs f2.8 lets you drop a whole ISO stop cleaner, makes a HUGE difference in the quality of your pictures. The bokeh on a FF lens is so wonderful, it should be illegal.

Sharp sharp sharp; incredible bokeh; great value

135mm can be a little long if you don't have a varied collection

Canon 135mm f/2 L Review

One of Canon's best lenses, the 135/2 L has superb optics in a compact package with great ergonomics and immediate autofocus. Lenses like these simply aren't available for Nikon, which is why so many professional photographers prefer Canon cameras.

What a gem

If your thinking of it. Let me just say this, best prime ever for portraits on a FF . If this is you then get it.
