Straight Up Magic

The title says it all on this. The sharpness is just right, the color rendition is amazing, and the contrast is incredible. Autofocus is also very fast, which is great because the combination of that and the bright aperture make it a great choice for indoor sports.

A Secret Weapon

This lens combined with my EOS 5D Mark IV is ideal for on location and studio portraits and event photography. Great bokeh and light weight vs my Canon 70-200mm, f2.8 and very fast auto focus, with very sharp images even though not image stabilized and all for $999.

Canon's L series has a well-deserved reputation for quality, and this 135mm (216mm on APS-C cameras) is living proof... It's the longest focal length in test and is known for its sharpness, with the centre of images being sharp at f/2 and the corners becoming impressively sharp from f/2.8 until...

Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM

SIx months on from buying it this has become my favourite lens ever, beating my previous favourite (Leica's 4th version of the 35mm Summicron for its M-series rangefinders). I use it for everything, landscapes, townscapes, interesting detail, portraits.

Wonderful image quality; lots of detail; contrasty; subject separation; fast and accurate AF; bright viewfinder; solid construction; unobtrusive in use; ..

No weather sealing; makes all my other lenses look poor (even the 'L' zooms that; when I first got them; imagined could hardly be improved on)

A magical lens - highly recommended

This lens has graced my camera permanently since I bought it - it's an absolutely beautiful piece of kit and the additional 2 stops of aperture over the zooms I was previously using has brought back a degree of creativity to my photography that had seemed to be withering.

YOU COULD SHAVE WITH THIS LENS...

...this lens is THAT sharp. I took this lens for a "walk" and came back with some unbelievable shots...they were that clear, in focus and super sharp with THE smoothest, buttery bokeh I have ever seen.

incredibly sharp, no visible chromatic abberations

I have 8 L lenses, this might be my favorite. It's just amazingly sharp. I can't find any visible chromatic aberrations on my copy! I am super picky about sharpness.
