The stabilization of the view is mind blowing. I was a bit concerned about spending this much money on a pair of binoculars. We love to casually birdwatch and my wife and I live for most of the year on a catamaran sailboat and the rolling of the deck can create some steadying issues using our...
By far the best binoculars i've owened. simply amazing what image stabilization does. Now I can see very detailed moon without getting worried about stable hands.
Superior build quality; Reliable; Durable; Easy to use
In an unscientific survey I'd say these have emerged as a favorite among deployed soliders conducting mounted patrols, looking out the window of a vehicle jostling down unimproved roads.
I already own the Canon IS 10x30 and 10X42 L. I wanted something that would reach further and not be as shaky as my standard 15x50. The 18X50 are superb! You may want to do the same thing I did with these and the 10X42 set, and that is invest in some good Hoya filters to protect the objective lens.
I have been an avid birder watcher for several decades. I've owned most of the top-of -the-line European binoculars (Zeiss, Leica, etc.) over the years. I purchased the Canon 12x36 IS binocs almost 6 years ago and I love them.
Best binoculars money can buy. Incredibly be able to see the object completely still with 18x magnification. Expensive as s'atan but what can you do ....
Wow
As a long term Leica owner I knew I could not improve on the lens quality. However I wanted greater magnification for bird watching minus the shake. The Canon has lived up to the promise and the image stabilising is a wondrous thing.
