Activision and Treyarch inject us this year's dose of Call of Duty insanity. After such a long-running series that always screams ‘high production values', you cannot help but retain some narrow-mindedness before jumping into the game itself. Admittedly, this sort of thing happened to me.

The Black Ops sub-series for Call of Duty has historically been one of its best. It's mix of faster-than-usual speed and a heavy emphasis on incorporating more sci-fi elements into its stories.

With a Call of Duty game, you can generally expect fast-paced boat chases, vehicle assaults, and an air-to-air combat segment packed into a Michael Bay-style cinematic experience.

Messing with the core 'Call of Duty' gameplay is tricky work, but Treyarch has delivered a AAA beast with 'Call of Duty: Black Ops III.' On the one hand, there is an accessible speed and mobility that keeps everything moving in a guns up way.

Feature packed and experience rich. Call of Duty doesn't slow down on this release and proves the formula can still deliver fantastic experiences.

When Activision announced that it had hired a third team to produce its yearly Call of Duty franchise, it might have seemed like a stretch. However, this would mean each team would get extra time to refine each game in the series. That should mean improved quality across the board, right?

Call of Duty is a series that has split and reformed a few times now. With two developers working on the franchise entries, albeit each with their own distinct branch, it can be hard to keep up with which entry we are getting each year. With the Black Ops thread though, there's a clear through line.

Stuff. This game has a ton of stuff in it. The modes are there, they're many, and they're relatively diverse for a Call of Duty game. On paper, it might be the biggest Call of Duty package yet.
