I was in desperate need of a multi-function fax/printer/scanner/ copier and expected to pay a huge amount of money. When I saw the price of the Brother MFC 1810 I thought that it would be poor but I was desperate - How wrong could I be?!

Brother's MFC-1810 is a budget multifunction printer (MFP) based on the entry-level HL-1110 mono laser printer. Like the HL-1110, this is a no-frills product with only a single paper input tray, no automatic duplex (double-sided) printing and no network support.
This printer has no indicator lights and has an annoying habit of switching itself into 'deep sleep mode' and you don't know if it's on or off. It has an LCD display panel displaying the modes, but it is not illuminated and you need a small torch to see what it says, and you then have to manually...
Had it for eight months and still not overly familiar with features
An impressive MFP for the money, but its high running costs are disappointing
At first glance, a good budget b&w laser printer with copier, scanner, and fax. Three major issues, before I could actually test it however: 1) The item sent was for the Italian market, with Euro power plug, Italian phone adaptor, all-Italian instructions and menu language : oh buon dolore!
The Brother MFP-1810 is a printer that is meant strictly for document printing, copying and faxing. The print speed is average at best, and while the quality is excellent, the noise and lack of auto-duplex features may be an issue to some.
Clean; crisp prints
Noisy; No auto duplex
