This printer is fast, relatively quiet and has automatic duplex printing. The printing speed is significantly faster than HL-2240 and HL-2170W I have used. The noise level is similar to that of HL-2240. The print quality is good with text being very sharp.
The $199 Brother HL-2270DW laser monochrome printer earned a place on CNET's Top Printers list for its budget-friendly price tag and simple design. The company's latest monochrome laser, the HL-5450DN, improves on that model, adding cloud printing and Ethernet networking for $199.
The Brother HL-5450DN is built for busy small offices with Ethernet networking and cloud access through Apple AirPrint; Google Cloud Print; and Brother's iPrint&Scan smartphone app
The iPrint&Scan app can't print PDFs more than 20 pages; nor does it support legacy models like the popular HL-2270DW
Similar in many ways to the Brother HL-5470DW , the Brother HL-5450DN is just different enough to make it worth a separate look. In essence, it's a stripped-down version of the same printer, with less memory (which, in theory, can affect speed), no Wi-Fi, and status lights instead of an LCD-based...
Duplexer and 300-sheet capacity standard, 800-sheet maximum; Ethernet; Low running cost
Although acceptably fast; particularly for the price; it's slower than you might expect for the rated engine speed
Compare to other printer, it is very good price. Still I don't suggest it because the two problems: Stupid to print double size, when there in only one page; Instant high power flush can cause power damage. Many times the power panel off.
Not having a network adapter for wireless connection is not a big deal. These days you can buy a wireless print server and attach it with a network cable to this printer in order to print wirelessly.
I am pleased with this printer so far, it's faster than my previous model; only downside, apart from the price of consumables, it that it is a bit noisy. I will, of course, be annoyed at the cost of the consumables.
This printer is/can be a little bit loud when starting up or printing. It is a bit large, but not as large as many lazer printers I've seen. Seems to be a good print quality from the one page I printed so far from google maps with directions. Picture and print were both good/excellent quality.
sounds like a good solid printer good print quality
sound is a little much black and white so no colour; maybe should have usb3.0 interface
I bought this as a printer for our winter condo. My CD drive is broken in the condo computer. So, I was unable to install the printer, which can be installed only by CD. Very disappointed. Will take it to my regular home and hook it up to my other computer there because sending it back is a hassle.
I bought this printer mainly for iPad. Setup was a breeze and works great. Print quality as expected with a laser printer. Airprint feature on this printer is great for iPad/iPhone use and print outs comes out exactly the same as you would normally with a PC.
airprint compatibility
