The market for small, desktop, mono laser printers is crowded, with the main differentiators being speed, duplex print and wireless connection. Brother's HL-2270DW has the last two of these and a claimed top speed of 26ppm.

We can't fully recommend it based on the consumable prices we've seen. However, if they drop significantly, we could well be upgrading it to an award.

Brother's new mono laser range aims to cover all the bases. It starts with the HL-2240's 250-sheet tray and 24ppm claimed speed, then adds a duplexer for the HL-2240D, networking and a speed boost for the HL-2250DN, and wireless to all that for this, the flagship HL-2270DW.

The HL-2270DW is a different kind of portable printer in that it's really more for use with documents and presentation materials that you'd find in an office setting. This isn't one you'd want to use for printing photographs on the go.

Bought this printer to replace an aging Brother HL1240, mainly as we needed the networking feature but also a new toner cartridge for the old printer was around ￡50 and we thought as we get a new cartridge with the new printer (why not).

I had little hard time to set up wireless connection but installation disk directed me to video and after watching video I set it up easily. Installation instruction book was hard to follow. Then tried to print and worked out very well.

Today, we have a full review of the HL-2270dw, the flagship of the HL-2200 lineup. At $149.99, the HL-2270dw combines a small footprint with fast print speeds, automatic duplexing, and built-in networking (including wireless connectivity).  Will it truly fit in both a small office and a home...

This was a replacement printer for a prior one of the same model, which finally died after about 4 years due to drum issues. We have found it to be inexpensive to use, as toner only needs to be replaced maybe twice a year. Starts quick from sleep mode.

This is really an excellent laser printer with exception of the fan

The fan runs after printing for about 15 minutes and it is quite noisy

I shopped around to find the biggest bang for my buck. This printer offers everything i was looking for and works like a champ. I have a Kodak inkjet all-in-one that goes to "sleep" and i have to wake it up to print to it. This laser printer works all the time as long as it is turned on. I love it.
