Printed 45 copies of a 6 page newsletter and toner ran out. Total of 270 pages. This newsletter has photos on 4 of the 6 pages, so let's say this would be the equivalent of printing say 360 pages, plus 90 normal pages, total of 450 pages.

I own five of these and just love them. I also like the fact that I can use the same toner in the MFC-7860DW (I own two of these). It does all that I need and I am able to run my business and a busy home.
Recently, I just bought the Brother HL-2270DW printer for usage in my university hostel. I must say the experience so far has been wonderful. I will start from the setup. The setup instructions were easy to follow and I got my printer up and ready within 10 minutes from unboxing it.
Cheap; Easy to setup; Fast printing speed
Picture quality will be compromised
The Brother HL-2270DW monochrome laser printer costs $150 (as of August 19, 2011)--a very low price, especially considering that it includes Wi-Fi.
Automatic duplexing; Wireless connectivity,
Expensive toner
This budget-minded, basic mono laser is the perfect combination of price, performance, and feature set for small and home offices with moderate document-printing needs.
Fast; High-quality output; Low cost of consumables for price range
Bare-bones; unintuitive controls; Complicated Wi-Fi setup; A few parts are flimsy
The Wi-Fi equipped Brother HL-2270DW provides small businesses with an efficient output device for high-volume black-and-white prints.
Reliable; Easy-to-use; Wi-Fi connectivity as standard
Poor graphic output quality
Great printer for the money, especially if you can find it on sale. Genuine printer cartridges are also very cheap and I find them in most tech store circulars at a discount at times only slightly higher than remanufactured.
Cost-effective; Prints fast; Wireless, duplexing built-in; High capacity toner cartridge last 4 times as long as in-box original
Some issues printing on Window machines when printing to it on Wifi though it works without any issue on my Macs
With improvements to its output speed, the Brother HL-2270DW improves on its legacy model and provides small businesses an efficient output device for high-volume black-and-white prints.
The Brother HL-2270DW lives up to Brother's reputation for reliable; easy-to-use; wireless monochrome laser printers
The printer struggles to provide visually acceptable graphic documents
Automatic duplexing and wireless make the Brother HL-2270DW a more-than-basic laser printer, but its toner costs are high.
The Brother HL-2270DW laser monochrome printer provides a viable alternative to the classic bottomless money pit that has become today's inkjet printer. Modern photo, tricolor, and high-capacity ink cartridges can cost anywhere from $20 to $100 per refill, so multiply that by your volume of prints and try not to balk at the true cost of operation. As an alternative, supplementing a printer setup with an inexpensive black-and-white laser printer can cut costs in home offices that cycle through black ink cartridges with text-only documents. Although it's not without its shortcomings such as poor graphic document output, the Brother HL-2270DW balances out with speedy text printing and simple 802.11 b/g wireless for $149.99.
