Automatic duplexing and wireless make the Brother HL-2270DW a more-than-basic laser printer, but its toner costs are high.
The Brother HL-2270DW monochrome laser printer costs $150 (as of August 19, 2011)--a very low price, especially considering that it includes Wi-Fi.
Automatic duplexing; Wireless connectivity,
Expensive toner
You will get quality printed documents, but only one user will be able to network to this computer.
This device prints an impressive 27 pages per minute
This printer only has 32MB; enough to support only one user
Brother claims that the HL-2270DW is the world's most compact duplex (two-sided) laser printer, and we certainly can't name a smaller one. As the top model in Brother's new small laser range, which replaces the similarly diminutive HL-2100 series, it can also connect to a wired or wireless network.
I have owned this printer for about 8 months now and I have no complaints. It prints fast, clean and the duplex feature is a huge benefit in not wasting paper. You can beat this printer for the price and its wireless too!
The Brother HL-2270DW is a simple mono laser printer. Apart from wireless networking it doesn't have any fancy features - it does a good job of printing monochrome pages quickly, with a fast time for the first page to be printed and quick overall print speeds.
Fast print speeds; Good first page out time
Other budget lasers have larger toner cartridges; Manual feed is only a single sheet
The HL-2270DW is a different kind of portable printer in that it's really more for use with documents and presentation materials that you'd find in an office setting. This isn't one you'd want to use for printing photographs on the go.
Automatic duplexing and wireless make the Brother HL-2270DW a more-than-basic laser printer, but its toner costs are high.
Brother has a history of packing lots of capability into its low-cost printers, which leaves the Brother HL-2270DW ($150 street) with high expectations to live up to. And live up to them, it does.
Small; Fast; High-quality output, particularly for text; Duplexer; Wired and WiFi network support
Paper handling suitable for only light-duty use; with no additional options available
The Wi-Fi equipped Brother HL-2270DW provides small businesses with an efficient output device for high-volume black-and-white prints.
Reliable; Easy-to-use; Wi-Fi connectivity as standard
Poor graphic output quality
