Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III: Expensive, but a winner (review)

Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speakers are among the most popular -- if not, the most popular -- portable wireless speakers in terms of sales. Last year, the company launched the impressive $200 SoundLink Mini , a micro model, and now in early 2014, it's revamped its larger portable Bluetooth speaker ,...

The, sounds great for a compact Bluetooth speaker, playing louder than its predecessor and offering much better battery life; It also has a sleek and sturdy design, an auxiliary input, and the option to swap out protective covers (sold separately)

The speaker is pricey and has no speakerphone capabilities; requires dedicated AC adapter for charging (doesn't charge via Micro-USB)

Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III

Bose is back with SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III ($300), the third iteration of the wireless speaker since it was introduced in late 2011, and revved less than a year ago. While the second version looked a lot like the first, there's been a more significant physical redesign this time.…

Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III review: The Lexus of Bluetooth speakers

Bose SoundLink Bluetooth speakers are among the most popular -- if not, the most popular -- portable wireless speakers in terms of sales. Last year, the company launched the impressive $200 SoundLink Mini, a micro model, and now in early 2014, it's revamped its larger portable Bluetooth speaker, releasing the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III ($299.95).

Though it remains somewhat pricey, the Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III is a superlative portable wireless loudspeaker, improving on its already impressive predecessor.

The Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III sounds great for a compact Bluetooth speaker, playing louder than its predecessor and offering much better battery life; It also has a sleek and sturdy design, an auxiliary input, and the option to swap out protective covers (sold separately).

The speaker is pricey and has no speakerphone capabilities; requires dedicated AC adapter for charging (doesn't charge via Micro-USB).

Bose SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III

Whatever you may think of Bose, the company makes some excellent Bluetooth speakers . Its previous two models, the SoundLink Mini and SoundLink II , both earned our Editors' Choice in their categories for putting out a surprising amount of warm, clear sound in portable, relatively affordable...

Warm, full sound across a variety of music genres; Long battery life

Somewhat pedestrian design; Highs are slightly less crisp than before

Incredible sound!

I exchanged my UE Boom for the Bose SoundLink III today and was just stunned by the sound quality. The bass is clear, crisp and quite substantial for the size of the unit. Definitely well worth the price difference (versus the UE Boom).

Bose SoundLink 3 Review

The Bose SoundLink 3 surpasses its predecessor in nearly every way, but the price tag might put it out of reach for some music lovers.

Excellent sound quality; Almost double the battery life of the SoundLink 2; Louder than the SoundLink 2

Only charges via AC adapter; Pricey

Bose SoundLink III Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review

The SoundLink line of portable wireless speakers keeps improving in sound quality with each iteration. The line does, however, face a Bluetooth speaker market that has grown increasingly crowded with models boasting extras, such as mobile device charging and speakerphones.

Crisp, lively sound; Good overall volume; Sleek, sturdy design; Good battery life

No speakerphone; Lacks track-skip buttons and USB charging; High price

Bose SoundLink III

Good overall sound, with some limitations. Both professional testers and owners say the SoundLink III produces room-filling sound, with plenty of bass. Professional reviewers note that Bose has "tweaked" the sound signature slightly from previous versions, tilting it more toward the low end.

Excellent sound quality; Long battery life; Easy Bluetooth pairing; Attractive design

Few features; Battery cannot be replaced by user

SLIII vs SL mini.

Having both I can make an informed review. Simply the SLIII is the better of the two but not necessarily the better choice. The mini has an amazing output and quality of sound for such a small speaker. This is the speaker that you want if mobility is important to you.
