Bose QuietComfort 20 Review

Noise-cancelling in-canal earphones have been far less popular and common than the on-ear and over-ear ear noise cancelling full-size headphones, like Bose's QuietComfort 15($599.99 at Amazon). With the QuietComfort 20, Bose aims to change this. The $299.95 (direct) in-ear pair is offered in two varieties—the QuietComfort 20, intended for use with Android, BlackBerry, and Windows phones, and the QuietComfort 20i, intended for iPhone, iPads, and iPods. Bose hasn't eliminated the inline battery and circuitry compartment that is essential to an in-ear noise cancelling pair, but it is now quite thin and far less cumbersome. The real victory here, though, is the noise cancellation itself—it's by the far the most advanced, flexible noise cancellation we've ever experienced, and that alone would earn it our Editors' Choice award. The audio performance isn't for audiophiles seeking flat response, but the QC20 packs a full, rich low-end and crisp highs that work well with pop, rock, and mo...

The Bose QuietComfort 20 is a giant leap forward for noise cancellation earphones, and easily the most effective pair we have tested thus far.

The best noise cancellation circuitry on the market; Rich bass response and crisp highs; Comfortable, secure fit; Works in passive mode

Sound signature is very sculpted, and not for purists; Light on accessories like extra eartips

It is really hard to find any good headphones that offer such high noise cancellation and yet provide rich sound in such a small form factor and for these facts, the price of £259 appears to be justified for the Bose QuietComfort 20i.

Ultimate Noise cancellation Punchy bass Crisp highs Very sensitive speakers Spare earphone tips

Expensive Mid tones can become muddy Not entirely flat response

Had to get these for my husband...he loves them!

I had bought my husband the Bose® - QuietComfort® 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Headphones as a stocking stuffer for Christmas, and he liked those so...

You don't hear sound other than your music unless you want to

Nothing

Smooth noise blocking and great hair!

Wife did not like the over-ear (hair issues). Sold those and got these and she loves loves them! Great for plane rides, and some (not 100%) help at F1 races. Although they are quieter this year. Anyway, I digress.

Excellent quality

These headphones do exactly what you want from them. They are comfortable to wear, easy to handle and do the job. When noise cancelling is switched on they are very effective but control is just as the fingertips so that you can switch back into a safer mode when you need to hear what is around you.

Great Sound and Convenience

These little headphones kill the drone of an airplane as well as my over-the-ear model. But their compact size is what sets them apart - they fit easily in your purse, briefcase, or pocket. The only downside is the price (hence the loss of one star). Highly recommended.

Bose should know better than this

Nice little set of earbuds. Work great, yet Bose has one major flaw that separates these from their over-the-ear sets. That flaw is that you can get either the set for IOS or the set for Android, and neither one has the ability to work on the other.

Noise cancelling; small and travel friendly

You get it for IOS or for Android; and once you've bought it you're stuck to that platform

Best headphones ever

Battery life is good - 16hrs. Comfortable fit. Insane noise cancelling. Not good for windy conditions (such as running on a windy day). Excellent for planes, airports, etc.

Noise canceling is incredible - especially for consistent background noise like planes; Fit is comfortable

The case that's included is a bit too small - it is a squeeze to get the headphones in there; On a $300 pair of headphones, I'd like to see a more innovative / customized case that helps cut down on tangles

The best you can buy, comfortable and excellent noise cancelation. Cheaper units do nearly as well for much less though. The Bose stand out on long (8+ hr) flights due to the in ear comfort.
