Great value for the money and small footprint

This is a very solid speaker system. I went from a pair of Paradigm mini monitors and a Paradigm 12" 100 watt powered sub. With that setup and 6.5" drivers on the mini monitors, the sub only had to handle very low frequencies and more easily disappeared in the room.

Big sound for small to med room - Great value for the money

- Midrange frequencies handled by sub reveals location in the room

Using with my music creating gear

This is my 4th Bose Home Theater Speaker system and I am very very satisfied. I use it in my Home Music Studio with a Crown Amplifier together with my Roland & Yamaha keyboard combination with a Roland Mixer. Overall sound quality is very satisfactory.

Just as I need, a basic Stereo system that I needed most of the time..

Like it because it could be connected to non-Bose receiver or amplifier. The quality of the speaker different compared to the older Bose Lifestyle speakers. It has less bass, so I connect it to a "speaker switch" to listen to music that sounds better with more bass.

GREAT

People complain about this and that and the corksniffers say there are no mids etc etc. Well I cant speak for all the acoustimass series but I have owned the series 2 for years. I bought them in about 2002 and have used them ever since. They are fantastic.

A bit under-rated

I've read many negative reviews about these (positive as well). I would rate them an 8.5 to 9 on a scale of 10. I played with these quite a while during set-up. Wiring, placement and amp quality are huge variables with this system.

High and mid-range sounds from the cubes are very crisp, especially during gaming; System has a good all-round sound for the xbox 360, dvds and for music but fall short of excellent; The cubes deliver an amazing sound volume for thier size and look great on the top of the piano

Bose should make it clear that the base module is not a powered sub-woofer; It does not deliver any where near the lows of a powered sub; This did not matter to me because I planned to add a sub anyway; Base module is not all that easy to hide

Bose?Acoustimass 5

Well, this just seems slightly unfair. These speakers are not that terrible, and I'm talking about 10+ year old first series ones before they had cool swivelly cubes and what not. They have held up really well, and overall I'm pleased.

Tight; controlled sound Great treble and controlled bass Will fill most any room with sound from any listening position For what I paid; pretty sweet

Somewhat (not terribly; mind you) weak in the midrange

I have two systems. One is my serious listening and hobby system based on B&W 602.2's, and the other is in the living room for TV sound enhancement for movies, easy listening, background music for dinners or cocktail parties. Why were the AM-5's selected?

Crisp Sound, Punchy Bass in a Discrete Size

Bose is not a brand for everyone, every time I see a review online it is always audiophiles comparing Bose to high priced systems that take up a whole lounge room. The way I look at Bose is they are a great smaller speakers for people who want crisp sound in a small and discrete package.

Good sound

AM5 S3 (S3 are in the photo). I had the habit of listening to this system since 1999 and I could compare the same price range this is the one the best!
