Borderlands Review - The Wastelands Go Co-Op

Gearbox took the trend of mashing together multiple genres and has put its cherry on top. The new shooter/RPG/MMO takes what others have done, refines it, throws in a slew of concepts and comes out smelling like a rose.

...You really got into Fallout 3 ; ...You've wanted to play World of Warcraft without all those elves and swords; ...You get a contact high from loot games

...There's never a good reason to open up the menus; ...You prefer to keep your genres separate; ...You prefer not to grind for levels

Borderlands Review

Borderlands is a perfect multiplayer RPG-Shooter that offers loot hounds hours of fun. It has its flaws, though, and its grinding sensibilities probably won't appeal to everyone.

Borderlands review

Borderlands represents an ambitious project for developers Gearbox. On the one hand, it's full of loot and traditional run & gun action, however on the other it has mild annoyances carried over from RPG titles.

The successful blend of a shooter and loot RPG; Co-op is tons of fun and makes the game feel like a shooter version of World of Warcraft; Big world with lots of quests, and filled with some interesting characters.

Less fun when playing alone; A bit too much grinding required at times when playing single-player; Typical dull collection quests that plague almost every RPG; Travelling the world is not always much fun; Story is not well fleshed out which is a disappointment.

Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned Review

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first installment in what will hopefully be a long line of downloadable content for the highly enjoyable Diablo -esque FPS, Borderlands . This Halloween-themed zombie-laden DLC is here just in time for… Thanksgiving!!

More Borderlands Fun; Zombies and Loot Goons; Humorous Plot; Good value for $10

The same problems that Borderlands already has

Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a nicely distilled slice of Borderlands that bodes well for future DLC potential. The dramatic moments that are fairly strung out in the main game happen with invigorating regularity.

Environments and enemies offer welcome variety; Great humor throughout; Good number of quests and areas; Same great gunplay; loot; and artistic style

Difficulty is based on your story progress rather than character level; Occasional visual slowdown

Borderlands Review

If there's one game that set the goal posts for how to do co-operative play, it was Valve's Left 4 Dead , the 2008 zombie survival success story – building a game solely around the concept of co-op play is a tall order, even in these highly-connected days of internet and social networking, and is...

Borderlands DLC – The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned Review (PS3)

(First off, a quick apology for not getting this review up sooner, for the past two weeks I have been sitting in exams room, and have been genuinely exhausted, now I have a day off and have finally got a chance to get my teeth into this DLC and write up this review.

Borderlands PS3 Review

Fallout 3 may be plagued by game breaking bugs, but concealed behind it all is a wonderful game that mashes the FPS and RPG genres (perhaps because of their acronym titles, these two were always meant to be together) convincingly.

Shank

There has never been a better time than now to make a downloadable game. Limbo, Flower and Braid are great examples of the unique experience they can bring and the latest title to follow in their footsteps is Shank.

Borderlands

When I first read about Borderlands a few months ago, I was somewhat interested. To be honest, several other games releasing around the projected time took forefront in my mind, so the newly introduced FPS franchise from Gearbox Software fit into my plans mainly as a stop-gap between these other,...
