Borderlands 2 Review

There have been plenty of good First-Person RPG games such as Deus Ex, Fallout 3, Stalker, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, System Shock, and Vampire: The Masquerade–Bloodlines. However, none of these had the power to draw in non-RPG gamers like the unexpected hit Borderlands.

Sweet game.

This game offers a new variety of weapons borderlands™ did not offer, as well as a larger variety of more sophisticated AI. Borderlands 2™ will allow the best customisation so you can really take advantage of your weapons and their elements.

Borderlands 2 review

A great FPS / RPG hybrid, Borderlands 2 is a hilarious, fantastic co-op experience.

New depth; A storyline that's goofy; but good; Grandiose encounters

Disconnect between online co-op and your campaign; Feels artificially long and bloated; Side quests are uneven

Borderlands 2

Keeping a repetitious action invigorating for the average FPS length takes skill. For one claiming - and delivering - sixty hours worth of gameplay keeping things fresh sounds more the work of a miracle than design.

+ Scripting is consistently superb; + Plenty of fun with the reasoning behind mission objectives.

- dip in enjoyment early on; - Resistance Vs The Man already done to death

There were a lot of things that made Borderlands such a great game when it came out three years ago: the hardscrabble planet, the oddball characters, the hostile creatures, the diverse missions, the abundant loot, the powerful skill trees, and the novelty of all these things combined in a...

A ton of great mission writing and dialogue; Enticing loot and experience rewards; Intriguing skill trees; Rich; inviting gameworld

Spoken messages sometimes interrupt each other; One character ability is not substantially different from the core gunplay; Inelegant split-screen save system

Borderlands 2 game review: 'Near perfect'

-esque looting and superlative co-op play ensured Gearbox Software's new property more than held its own against the established franchises. There was much to love about the game - yet room for improvement too - so with the inevitable sequel comes the opportunity to iron out those creases and strive...

Borderlands 2 Review

It seems I have something of a love-hate relationship with the Borderlands franchise. At first I hate it, then I love it. And after re-visiting my review of the original Borderlands, it seems my feelings about the latest game in Gearbox's popular series are pretty much identical to those I had of...

Borderlands 2 review

Generally speaking the rule of thumb that applies to sequels is that everything must be bigger, better and even more badass than the first, and thankfully the good folk at Gearbox have applied this and then some in Borderlands 2.

Fantastic shooting mechanics; RPG elements are simple and addictive; Gunfights are kept fresh.

Customisation options could be greater; Occasional pop-up in graphics

Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2 takes every aspect of the first game and blows it up. Everything here is bigger and much of it is better. Many of the minor quibbles people had with the first game have been addressed.

Borderlands 2 (PS3) - Review

In the stagnant cesspool that is the first person shooter genre, it's always nice to see a game try to break the mould by trying something new. Borderlands accomplished this by infusing western RPG elements into the genre, expanding the world and giving the player options as well as a rather...
