BlackBerry Curve 8520 review

All in all, the BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone is an impressive piece of telephonic gadgetry for the money. We've yet to have a chance to test out its battery life but based on all the other BlackBerry handsets we've tried, expect it to be unfazed bv being in standby for a period of two weeks and...

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Review

As a ‘My first BlackBerry', the Curve 8520 is bound to win a new legion of fans.
Cons:
  • We still await a camera on a BlackBerry that can be described as being ‘above average'

BlackBerry Curve 8520

T-Mobile is getting a bevy of smartphones this summer, and we're happy to see it (as are T-Mobile customers, we're sure). The carrier has recently launched the T-Mobile Dash 3G and the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G , and the HTC Touch Pro2 is just around the corner.
Pros:
  • The RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 features a responsive optical trackpad and dedicated media controls
  • The smartphone also offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera, and good call quality
Cons:
  • Lacks 3G support and GPS
  • You can only save downloaded apps to the phone's main memory

  • The smartphone also offers Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel camera, and good call quality.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Lightning Review: Cheap (Not The Good Kind)

It's not that it's poorly built-the construction is plenty sturdy, like all good Fisher Price toys. But it's like RIM took the excellent Curve 8900 (which is also on T-Mobile for $US30 more ) and re-designed it for a very sophisticated 6-year-old.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 (T-Mobile)

With the BlackBerry 8520, RIM has created a well-rounded smart phone for an unbeatable price. Offered through T-Mobile for $129 but sold at Wal-Mart for just $48.88 (and Amazon.com for one cent) this smart phone features the same excellent keyboard and data services that BlackBerry users have grown...
Pros:
  • Sleek lightweight design
  • Trackpad works well
  • Dedicated media keys
  • Supports calls over Wi-Fi
  • Very good attachment support
Cons:
  • No 3G data
  • Low resolution display
  • Mediocre browsing experience

  • Up to 16GB expandable memory
  • Good battery
Cons:
  • No 3G

BlackBerry Curve 8520

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 aims to go where no 'Berry has gone before, a land with no trackball. RIM's trackball is beloved and like the BlackBerry line, addictive. It's responsive, accurate and more efficient than the much more common d-pad. So why axe it?
Pros:
  • Good battery life
  • durable
  • great trackpad
Cons:
  • Lesser features than the BlackBerry 8900 for not much less money

BlackBerry Curve 8520 (T-Mobile)

Research in Motion apparently has decided the best way to conquer the smartphone market is to put their well-known OS into a dizzying array of different bodies. That's fine with me, because many of them turn out excellent- Flip and Storm aside.
Pros:
  • Sleek form factor and accurate trackpad are genuine improvements
  • Near-perfect keyboard
  • Excellent value (providing you buy it at Walmart)
Cons:
  • Very weak reception
  • Still no 3G or GPS

  • quality photos
Cons:
