Review of T-Mobile's BlackBerry Curve 8520 with optical trackpad controller
The recently launched BlackBerry Curve 8520 for T-Mobile offers most of the 8900's appeal, but in a slightly less expensive package. It also is the first BlackBerry to feature the optical trackpad controller. We test it out in this review, which includes two HD videos.

RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520
We like the media playback controls, we like the ambition of producing a low-cost BlackBerry, but until the Curve 8520 drops in price there's too much competition for us to recommend it

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 provides an affordable and enjoyable way to enter the world of raging CrackBerry addiction. With a full Qwerty keyboard and good social-networking and messaging apps, it holds plenty of appeal for social butterflies.

- Qwerty keyboard
- Good social-networking apps with more available on the BlackBerry App World
- 3.5mm headphone jack
- Dedicated music keys
- Black version is attractive
- Rubber trim

BlackBerry Curve 8520
Review Research in Motion's latest offering in the BlackBerry Curve range is described as an entry-level model. Indeed, it doesn't have a touch screen, GPS, or even a 3G network connection.

Review: Blackberry Curve 8520
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is not going to wow you with its features or by having some of the latest and greatest widgets bolted on, but as a solid smartphone that should meet all the most common needs of today's office worker RIM has done an excellent job with this phone at a price point that should...
Pros:
- Price
- complete smartphone functionality
- display
Cons:
- Feels cheap and plasticky
- web browsing
- lack of 3G and GPS

BlackBerry Curve 8520 review
With the BlackBerry Storm, RIM made a huge step towards the consumer market. With a touchscreen, newly designed multimedia player and a 3.2-megapixel camera, it was a step away from the straight-laced business philosophy that people were used to from the Canadian manufacturer.

RIM BlackBerry Curve 8520 review
A great budget option for the BlackBerry and a good starter phone if you are new to the brand. However for BlackBerry old-timers, you will need to go up a price level to get all you really want from this business device giant.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 (T-Mobile)
Research in Motion apparently has decided the best way to conquer the smartphone market is to put their well-known OS into a dizzying array of different bodies. That's fine with me, because many of them turn out excellent- Flip and Storm aside.
Pros:
- Sleek form factor and accurate trackpad are genuine improvements
- Near-perfect keyboard
- Excellent value (providing you buy it at Walmart)
Cons:
- Very weak reception
- Still no 3G or GPS

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Review
Other than perhaps some missing style flourishes and the lack of 3G connectivity, the Curve 8520 is a real BlackBerry.
Pros:
- Excellent sound quality
- edits Microsoft Office attachments
- trackpad simplifies navigation
- Compatible with T-Mobile myFaves
- quality photos
Cons:
- Small keypad difficult for direct dialing
- EDGE instead of 3G connectivity
- no preloaded BlackBerry App Store
- can't change menu themes

There has been quite a speculation about the launch of a new BlackBerry phone. Some people said that the code name of the device is "Gemini" while some said that its model number will be 8325.
Pros:
- Slim design
- Up to 16GB expandable memory
- Good battery
Cons:
- No 3G
- Just 2 MP camera
