Great phone tinged with sadness.

Excellent phone. Brilliant buying experience. But, I'm sad because this is probably old stock and Blackberry are now only concentrating on business users.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 Lightning Review: Cheap (Not The Good Kind)

It's not that it's poorly built-the construction is plenty sturdy, like all good Fisher Price toys. But it's like RIM took the excellent Curve 8900 (which is also on T-Mobile for $US30 more ) and re-designed it for a very sophisticated 6-year-old.

BlackBerry Curve 8520 review

With the BlackBerry Storm, RIM made a huge step towards the consumer market. With a touchscreen, newly designed multimedia player and a 3.2-megapixel camera, it was a step away from the straight-laced business philosophy that people were used to from the Canadian manufacturer.

Review of T-Mobile's BlackBerry Curve 8520 with optical trackpad controller

The recently launched BlackBerry Curve 8520 for T-Mobile offers most of the 8900's appeal, but in a slightly less expensive package. It also is the first BlackBerry to feature the optical trackpad controller. We test it out in this review, which includes two HD videos.

Blackberry Curve 8520 Review

The Blackberry 8520 is without doubt a decent device. I think it will have a limited market though as it is lacking a few features compared to the Curve 8900, however the new trackpad may just swing it for some people.

BlackBerry Curve 8520

Over the past few months we've received a number of entry-level smartphones for testing. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 was the most surprising of the lot, since we didn't expect a BlackBerry that would be available on a R150 weekender package, which by the way includes unlimited Internet browsing and...
Pros:
  • Great media functionality and well priced
Cons:
  • No GPS or 3G connectivity

REVIEW: Rogers BlackBerry 8520 Curve

Overall, I love the device. While it might be complicated to use if you've never had a BlackBerry before, you'll quickly fall in-love with the phone and notice that no other smartphone device will be able to push data quite as well as BlackBerry's do. I currently have an 8900.
