BlackBerry Bold 9700 review

A slimmer, lighter Bold than the original model, we like the substitution of the trackball for the touchpad and think this BlackBerry line remains the most appealing that RIM offers. Time will tell whether qwerty keypad fans find the BlackBerry Bold 9700's shrunken keypad an issue, however.

BlackBerry Bold 9700

BlackBerry has just launched their new Bold 9700, which is every bit as elegant as the original, the Bold 9000 , with a few alterations to keep up with the times. Retaining RIM's business like functionality the 9700 is also loaded with BlackBerry's version 5.0 OS that promised to knock your socks...

Virgin BlackBerry Bold 9700 Smartphone

BlackBerry 's seem to be the unit of choice for the large amount of commuters I see on the occasions I travel back home during the evening. What I cannot really understand is why a good number of them need to have two.

The camera is good. It's 3.2 mp. Its flash is quite good as well. But BB phones are not primarily camera phones. White is for Gals and Black is for Guys or White is for Bride and Black is for Groome.

Good upgrade from the Curve

### I had the Blackberry Curve (sunset color) model and returned two of them due to hourglassing, freezing screens and bad reception issues. The biggest issue I had with the most recent Curve was the battery life. I upgraded to the Bold, as was recommend ...

BlackBerry Bold 9700 in-depth review -

If the original BlackBerry Bold was a smartphone in its prime, the Bold 9700 is a BlackBerry on ‘roids; a streamlined, no filler all killer device that's improved on its predecessor in every way. And with double the amount of RAM and a new BlackBerry OS 5.0, it runs even faster.
Pros:
  • Perfect QWERTY keyboard
  • best email support on the market
  • super responsive trackpad
Cons:
  • Limited customisation possible
  • small screen size impedes web browsing and media viewing

BlackBerry Bold 9700...

The overall experience with the Blackberry has been of constant communication and maintenance â€" the ease with which one remains connected to the world is awesome and at the same time slightly daunting. I’m not giving it back though. I must have “the preciousâ€.
Pros:
  • The standard wireless additions are present: 3G, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi
  • On the left side of the phone there is a headphone jack, micro-USB port, customisable application key, while on the right there is another user-definable key (defaulted to camera) and the volume toggle.
Cons:
  • There has been some mention of the reduction in keyboard size hampering typing
  • However I was undaunted and found my fingers navigated with ease over the qwerty keyboard

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

The Bold 9700 feels much more like a consumer product than its predecessors, once you get past all the menus. Sure, it doesn't yet offer the range of apps and the media features aren't as honed as other devices out there, but it's a great all-rounder for someone who wants a handset for playing as...

Research In Motion BlackBerry Bold 9700

I replaced my Blackberry Perl with this phone about 3 months ago. The greatest thing about this phone is it's ability to make calls over a WiFi connection. Every network I know gets terrible service in my apartment, but with this phone I am able to make calls without having to stand against the...

  • WiFi calling
  • full keyboard
  • good battery life
  • very customizable
Cons:
  • Internet browsing
