RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 (T-Mobile) Smartphone

The best BlackBerry available, the Bold 9700 packs a multitude of features into a sophisticated, slimmed-down design. Research In Motion’s BlackBerry Bold 9700 ($200 with a two-year T-Mobile contract; price as of 11/4/09) is the finest BlackBerry to date, combining the best of the BlackBerry Tour 9630 and the BlackBerry Bold 9000 in a slim and refined package. People looking for a major update to the original Bold might be disappointed, but BlackBerry fans will appreciate the handset’s subtle design tweaks and upgrades.
Pros:
  • Attractive, slimmed-down design
  • Excellent, ergonomic keyboard
Cons:
  • Browser can’t compete with other top phones
  • Camera is just average

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 has finally arrived in India - and it's well worth the wait! The original BlackBerry Bold, a new entry into the world of 3G for RIM, had an amazing screen, decent sized keyboard and fast data access, but was let down by its appalling battery life.

Still running strong after 4 years

I use it as my only phone, business and personal. Mainly voice and reading email. Some SMS. Only data is occasional Google Maps, Pandora, a radio streaming app about once a month, and a parking meter payment app a couple times a week. Have made use of TM's free wifi calling from overseas for years.
