BlackBerry Bold 9700

It's fair to say the BlackBerry Bold took the QWERTY market by storm. It was a badge that said you'd made it in business, as commuter trains packed full of suits flashing RIM's flagship device.
Pros:
  • Hardware
  • keyboard
  • screen
  • email
Cons:
  • OS lacking integration of existing online or social networking services

BlackBerry Bold 9700 review

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is our favourite RIM device to date. It takes the essential, top-running features of the Bold 9000 and adds a sleek body and much-improved OS with 5.0.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

An excellent email device in a sleek and slim body.
Pros:
  • The best email support around is enhanced by the excellent QWERTY keyboard and responsive trackpad
Cons:
  • The screen is a little small for web browsing and watching films
  • and there's not much to be had in the way of customisation

9700

The BlackBerry Bold 9000 was a big success for RIM in both design and features, making it the BlackBerry smartphone to beat on GSM networks. The original Bold is a large phone, too big for some, and so the Bold 9700 is smaller and lighter.
Pros:
  • Good multimedia features and great messaging experience
  • UMA Wi-Fi calling is a big plus on T-Mobile version, Good multimedia features and great messaging experience

RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone

RIM's new flagship BlackBerry has finally arrived. Selling alongside rather than completely replacing the previous Bold 9000 , the BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone is smaller and sleeker. On the whole it's a slight improvement on its predecessor, but it doesn't offer anything new or revolutionary.
Pros:
  • Sleek
  • compact design
  • bright and vivid display
  • comfortable keyboard
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • great integration of Facebook
  • trackpad works well
Cons:
  • Smaller display and keypad than its predecessor
  • sluggish scrolling
  • Web browser remains inferior to alternatives

Review: BlackBerry Bold 9700

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 is one sleek phone. The new smaller size gives the phone a nice feel, and the trackpad makes navigation a breeze. I even loved the faux leather treatment to the battery cover.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

Although the Bold 9700 lacks the frills of an iPhone or Palm Pre, for utilitarian business users, it's one of the most polished smartphones on the market today.
Pros:
  • Optical trackpad
  • Solid build quality
  • Landline-like voice quality
  • Tack-sharp screen
  • Longest battery life of all BlackBerrys
Cons:
  • Keyboard potentially too small for larger fingers
  • Slow browser

BlackBerry Bold 9700

While it's hard to recommend it as an upgrade to current Bold owners, the 9700 is an outstanding phone in its own right and is still among the best handsets for business users.
Pros:
  • Sleek
  • sexy design
  • Stunning display
  • Excellent performance
  • Easy set-up
  • Good battery life
Cons:
  • Keyboard feels cramped
  • Optical trackpad won't be to everyone's liking

BlackBerry Bold 9700 Review

So is the Bold 9700 an improvement over the 9000. I should say so. As long as web browsing is not what you do most and you like a QWERTY keyboard then the Blackberry Bold 9700 is in my opinion a fantastic phone well worthy of its price, although in time I am sure most carriers will supply it free on...
