The Versace of headphones

NOTE: This review is specific to the H9 gen 3 and not the older generation(s), or the H9i. The gen 3 has noticeable improvements across the board and is the newest and best version of the H9. Impeccable build quality and styling. They look and feel way more premium compared to the competition.

Nice sound and quality. I have a QC35 as well, but it worths to pay the extra to get the H9i.

B&O H9i review

At £450, the B&O H9i are an investment that many budgets will find it hard to stretch to, but they do work really hard to prove they’re worth it. They beat the Bose QC35II and Sony WH-1000XM3 for out-and-out sound quality, and take on the B&W PX blow for blow at their best, coming close in performance but topping their noise-cancelling abilities. All that and they look gorgeous too. If you have a budget to blow, spend it here.

Engaging, spacious presentation; Impressive noise-cancelling; Gorgeous, comfortable design; Good battery life;

Expensive; Touch controls can be temperamental ;

B&O Beoplay H9i

The Beoplay H9i are luxury wireless and noise-cancelling headphones. They're the latest flagship model in B&O's range, replacing and improving on the existing H9. As with all of B&O's products, gorgeous design and extraordinary build quality go a long way towards justifying the above-average price...

Gorgeous looks; Excellent build quality; Sounds great; Proximity sensors work; Removable battery

Touch controls can be fiddly; Optional app is buggy; Expensive

B&O Beoplay H9i review: Pricey but near perfect over-ear headphones

We see a lot of headphones here at Pocket-lint, so for a pair of cans to really bed-in as the day-to-day workhorse means they have to be special. Which is exactly what happened with the B&O Beoplay H9, which have been our go-to over-ears for almost a year now .

Very comfortable for long periods of wear; Subtle noise-cancelling is excellent and further improved over original H9; Wide soundstage and heaps of low-frequency without muddying the sound profile; Decent battery life and USB-C charging

Significant asking price; Noise-cancelling not as potent as some competitors; Passive listen is a bit thin; Bluetooth is a little too quiet (regulations issue; Wind tear a potential problem for ANC when outside; Battery drains when ANC is idle

H9i

Premium design and materials and great sound sums it up. I've been a Bose QC Guy forever and lately I've noticed everyone and their mother has one when I travel. After doing some research I've concluded that the H9i gave me the best combination of uniqueness, style and great sound with noise...

Style; premium materials; great sound

Higher price than competition

Fabulous headphones, but not perfection

I really like the features these headphones have, the touch controls are very handy but they're not perfect, even after the latest firmware update that was installed straight out of the box.
