From an audio standpoint, the Beoplay H9i headphones are terrific, if a bit pricey. From a noise cancellation standpoint, they're not up to par with Bose, which sells the Bose QuietComfort 35 II for $150 less.

I was a little worried about testing B&O Play's Beoplay H9i, after having some misgivings about the company's smaller Beoplay H4's bass-heavy "street" sound .

Bang and Olufsen have updated their wireless over-ear headphone line with the Beoplay H9i. Now offering more features and better sound, these headphones are an upgrade from its previous model. They're quite an expensive pair, but hopefully justified by B&O's majestic sound quality.

The Beoplay H9i are luxury wireless and noise-cancelling headphones. They're the latest flagship model in B&O's range, replacing and improving on the existing H9. As with all of B&O's products, gorgeous design and extraordinary build quality go a long way towards justifying the above-average price...

I really like the features these headphones have, the touch controls are very handy but they're not perfect, even after the latest firmware update that was installed straight out of the box.

B&O continues its run of well-designed headphones with the H8i and H9i, and for the most part, the audio is up to par. The volume issue with the H8i is a big sticking point for me, especially when you consider how steep the investment is there.

We see a lot of headphones here at Pocket-lint, so for a pair of cans to really bed-in as the day-to-day workhorse means they have to be special. Which is exactly what happened with the B&O Beoplay H9, which have been our go-to over-ears for almost a year now .

NOTE: This review is specific to the H9 gen 3 and not the older generation(s), or the H9i. The gen 3 has noticeable improvements across the board and is the newest and best version of the H9. Impeccable build quality and styling. They look and feel way more premium compared to the competition.
