Audio-Technica has just released a microphone that I've been waiting on for years. The ATM450 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone. Audio-Technica makes several excellent small-diaphragm condenser mics already, but what makes this one different is its side-address design.

Very handy and easy to get into tight places. Good on hi-hatt and as spot mic for percussion, not bad on toms either. Not an 451 or a 421 though. But doesn't cost that much. Suffers from handling noise and low end coupling. Body of mic could be beefier to push resonant frequency lower.

sound really good on overheads, acoustic guitar, piano, hat, for me is side by side with neumann km-184 for just $200

The Audio-Technica ATM450 is a low budget large diaphragm condenser microphone designed for use in the recording studio. I wouldn't recommend using it at all outside of the studio, as it simply isn't designed for any other sort of use.
