Too fun for precise studio work, but perfect for enjoying music

Intro This review will mostly focus on M50x's qualities from a studio professional point of view – what to expect when using these headphones as a monitoring device for mixing and do they really cut it for mastering work.

Great sound and battery life

These cans sound amazing. I replaced the wards with some brainwaves pads and that made the comfort just perfect since I wear glasses. Would be 5 star, but there is a slight buzzing when in Bluetooth mode that's only noticable when no media is being played.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Bluetooth headphones review: Big audio sounds best at home

We've got a lot of love for the Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Bluetooth over-ear headphones. From an audio perspective there's a lot of clout, with great balance and precision from these affordable cans.

Battery life lasts for what seems like forever; Great sound quality for the affordable price point (including aptX and Hi-Res Audio; Bass that really hits - unlike some lesser headphones; Solid Bluetooth connectivity

Big and bulky design is starting to look dated; Clunky on-ear button controls; Limited isolation can adjust audio profile in certain environments; No noise-cancelling limits appeal somewhat; Micro-USB is dated (should be USB-C

Audio Technica ATH-M50XBT Wireless Over Ear Headphones - Black ATHM50XBT review

The Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT offers consistently high sound quality for both wireless and wired use, making them great for serious music fans.

The Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT offers great sound quality both with and without wires; They have an open sound with enough bass to satisfy most users; The Bluetooth controls are well integrated and the inclusion of a separate cable with an integrated mic is a real boon.

Unlike many headphones at this price, there's no noise cancelling; The sound can be a little too forward in noisy environments, resulting in less natural sound; The power button is in an awkward spot.

Audio Technica ATH-M50xBT review: Wireless monitor-grade headphones for serious music fans

Headphone wires, especially for mobile use, can be an unnecessary distraction. They get tangled on your bag, snag on fellow commuters, or come unplugged and become a trip hazard.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT Review: Great Wireless Headphones on the Cheap

The Audio-Technica ATH-50xBT maintains the phenomenal sound and sturdy design of the original, while adding Bluetooth into the mix.

Outstanding audio performance; Strong battery life; Multiple codec support; On-cup controls; Sturdy; comfy design; Bluetooth 5.0

Connectivity bugs; Touch controls need work; Meager mobile features

Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT

Ditching the wires on the ATH-M50x to make the ATH-M50xBT is one of the best things Audio-Technica has done in recent times.

Excellent battery life; Good detail and fun sound; Bluetooth 5.0; aptX support

No ANC; Could be cheaper

Great sound, very uncomfortable

I bought these headphones for studio monitoring. When they arrived I immediately noticed the great sounds quality, crisp full spectrum sound (plus they come in red, which is dope). After a couple minutes of continuous wearing, my ears and the top of my head started to hurt.
