Amazing Headphones

No complaints. They sound way better than any other pair I've owned. And they feel pretty durable. They are very comfortable for using over a long period of time. And the cool thing I like is the interchangeable cables, three to choose from. Not only the headphones but the service from mighty ape was superb – I ordered the pair around 10:00 am in the morning and got to me that afternoon around 6:00. From Auckland to Christchurch that is the quickest package I have ever gotten. Thanks a lot!!

Awesome

These headphones are incredible! For the price they absolutely can't be beat! I would take them over Beats any day! I use them at the library, work and anywhere else I want to be secluded by my music. They are super comfortable. I can wear them for hours at a time.

Audio Technica ATH-M50x Headphone

I bought these headphones as an upgrade from my trusty old Sennheiser CX300 earphones and boy, what an upgrade these are! The phones are built solid and the removeable cable fits very nicely with no squeaks.

If you're looking for a pair of over-ear headphones to wear at home, but don't want to break the bank, and aren't interested in bass-boosted unnatural listening, then the Audio-Technica M50x are a definite contender.
Pros:

  • immediately comfortable to wear
  • solid build and ample padding
Cons:
  • Largely plastic construction
  • no controller on included cables
  • not ideal for on-the-go wear
  • ears get warm after extended use

Great sound, poor comfort

This is such a bittersweet product, it has arguably among the very best sounds for this kind of price range, a touch more bass than the M40X due to the larger drivers, a touch less high end than the M50 preceding it, 3 removable cables of different lenghts, it was just right for me in several ways...

Audio-Technica ATH M50x

Audio-Technica's range gives you a lot of headphone for not very much money. What's not to like?
Pros:
  • Worthwhile improvements over the original M-series phones
  • especially the detachable cable on the M40x and M50x
  • The range as a whole offers excellent value for money
  • particularly the M20x and M40x
Cons:
  • As long as the Audio-Technica 'family sound' suits your needs
  • none

Best bang for buck headphones

The ATH-M50x headphones are the new iteration of the ATH-M50 which have had a cult following. For good reason too. These are built well and have excellent sound characters to match. The bass is excellent but not overpowering, and there is enough character in the mids to not be drowned out.
