Audio Technica M50X Studio Headphones - Black ATH-M50X review
Quibbles aside, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones are a modestly improved version of the already spectacular model they're based on, and among the best-sounding pairs you'll find for less than $200.- The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass
- They're also very comfortable and have slightly more cushiony earcups along with a detachable-cord design (three cords are included).
- There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls and the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use.
Audio-Technica ATH-M50x review: The best-sounding headphones under $200 get (slightly) better
Quibbles aside, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones are a modestly improved version of the already spectacular model they're based on, and among the best-sounding pairs you'll find for less than $200. One of the reasons Audio-Technica's ATH-M50 headphones became popular was that they were sort of the anti-Beats. Or, put another way, they were the headphones for "smart" listeners who looked down on people who overpaid and got suckered into the whole Beats marketing machine.- The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones offer excellent build quality and very detailed, balanced sound with tight bass
- They're also very comfortable and have slightly more cushiony earcups along with a detachable-cord design (three cords are included).
- There's no integrated microphone for making cell phone calls and the bulkier design makes them less suitable for mobile use.

Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones Review
Great news! Audio- Technica has recently introduced its revamped line of studio-grade and very much professional over-ear headphones. One of them being a new mid-level flagship successor to one of the more well known and admired headphones in recent years - the ATH -M50 .
When we last reviewed the M50 we were knocked out by its performance for just £120. Well, AT has monopolised the M50's lead in the shape of a brand new M50x, and added the M40x and M30x for those who need quality at an even keener price.
Review: Audio-Technica ATH-M50x
People are always asking me for headphone buying advice. Not just friends, but co-workers, strangers over Twitter, and people I meet at parties who learn that I write about audio gear. "Which headphones should I get?" It all depends, I say, on what you're looking for.- Fantastic sound
- Made for music production, but also great for critical listening
- If you're seated and working, they're comfortable enough to wear all day
- New version of these classic cans now features three detachable cables: one long, one short, and one coiled.
- No in-line remote or phone controls on the cables
- Even with the new mobile-friendly short cable, the big and bulky over-the-ear design isn't entirely mobile-friendly
- They fold, but not much, so they're tough to travel with
- Probably too heavy for walking around town
Great Headphones / REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE
I've been a long time fan of Audio Technica, I currently own 3 pair of these headphones. Since they've changed to a detachable cable (which is a great idea), it seems that the quality of the cables have taken a nose dive.- Great sound
- Great price
- Headphone jack breaks easily
Audio-Technica ATH-M50x
The Audio-Technica ATH-M50x are the consumer follow-up to the ATH-M50, a pair of headphones designed for the pros that proved so popular with normal folk it seemed silly not to make a slightly more friendly edition.- Powerful bass
- Good stereo imaging and separation
- Great value among peers
- Bass is somewhat overemphasised
- Isolation could be better
Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT
The wireless version of the incredibly popular studio headphone M50x von Audio-Technica has plenty to offer. Enticing features include a 40 hour battery life, 3-button remote with integrated microphone, not to mention voice control via Touch Control.
Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT review: Great sounding Bluetooth headphones with long battery life
Headphones are a dime a dozen these days. From wired to Bluetooth to true wireless, there's an option for everyone. That being said, even though Bluetooth headphones are closing the gap, wired headphones are still the go-to for professionals.
