Wanted a new record player and this hasn't disappointed. Looks and sounds great
First off, I am no 'audiophile' I just like to listen to music. That said this is a great turntable. It has a nice rounded sound (at least compared to my no-name turntable I had before).
I bought this turntable after becoming intrested in Vinyl using a portable suitcase style turntable. When I found out that these turntables damage records I decided to invest in a turntable that I could rely on. This turntable is just that.
Really nice to get back into vinyl. I changed the included cartridge with a Shure M97xE. It sounds great. Very easy to set up. I would recommend to anyone getting back into vinyl, without spending a fortune.
Easy set up; Flawless operation
None so far
This is a well balanced unit that came packaged nicely. Even though UPS beat up the box badly, the unit survived without a scratch! My 25 year old son is really getting into the sound of vinyl and this player does a beautiful job.
Excellent sound, easy to set up; Easy to upgrade the cartridge; If you are looking for a budget audiophile turntable then this is well worth considering
No bad points
Authoritative, full-bodied sound; Expressive and musical; Easy to setup; Full automatic;
Interconnects are built in, which is a little restrictive;
Despite fierce competition in the entry-level turntable market, the AT-LP3 does a great job at standing out. Its performance is one thing, but the fact it’s so easily upgradeable means you’ve also got a turntable that can be updated and improved as you go. Not that you may ever feel the need to. At this price, there’s little else that is as enjoyable to listen to and has so much to offer. This is entry-level, but not as you know it.

The arm on this turntable can play most any cartridge from Ortofon, Grado, Audio Technica, etc. Personally I have the Grado Prestige Gold and the ground removes any possible hum (the ground cable is very important). The ground terminates on my Vincent PHO8, because I love this preamp.
