Definatley worth a chance, but only if you like RPGs

Atelier Rorona is a Japanese role playing game centred around a young girl called Rorona who is an alchemist in training. At the start of the story you learn about how the alchemist shop came to be in the town of Arland and that it is now in trouble of being shut down in the name of development,...

atelier Rorona

I really enjoy the game play in Atelier Rorona, although the in game conversations can drag on a bit. Game play is very much like Dragon Quest meets Harry Potter in that very pretty Japanese manga way. The only reason I gave it a 3 star was because it was short.

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland PS3 Review

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland might very well see a world under threat, which is hardly a unique premise for an RPG in itself, but hold your horses, it's not the world at large this time that is facing destruction, but rather heroine Rorolina Frixell's (commonly known as Rorona) personal...

Atelier Rorona Keeps the Series Going

I really wish the storyline left me feeling like I'd accomplished something. And the game is like a big fetch-and-make quest over and over again. But you still find yourself wanting to play just one more day. Okay... one more day. Alright! One more day...

Rorolina Frixell, called Rorona for short, is essentially an indentured servant of Astrid, the town's alchemist. Astrid doesn't seem to do anything to justify her shop's existence, refusing to do any work and often taking long naps or leaving the workshop for no reason.

PS3 Review - 'Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland'

The anime style characters and backgrounds from previous Atelier titles remain, but they have been upgraded with a stunning cell-shaded animation style. The basic game play carries over the tradition of the series, using alchemy as the main focal point, where players can craft new items and also...

PS3 Review – Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland

The Atelier series has been around since 1997 in Japan and 2004 in North America, spanning 13 games. The latest game now out in North America, Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland is the first to bring alchemy into HD for the PlayStation 3.

Atelier Rorona Plus Review: I'm excited about cabbages

The Atelier series is a bit of a black sheep in the JRPG scene, well-known for being a middle-ground for multiple genres. Even a brief glance speaks volumes about the game: a cast of cute, young girls knocks many of the more extreme forms of conflict from the narrative checklist; its colorful art...

Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland (PS3) - Review

It's been quite a few years since the Japanese release and it didn't even make it here before the sequel came out in Japan but Atelier Rorona has finally made it to the West. Fans of Gust's previous games know that they emphasize item creation more than most other JRPG series but I was surprised how...

I'm going to sound like an ass saying this but I think it's safe to say that the NIS efforts for the PS3 have been a little bit, underwhelming. was a slight improvement, and I don't even want to talk about .
