2010's Atelier Rorona gets an overhaul with an all-new Plus version. Cheap cash-in or an opportunity to fix the issues of the original? Pete takes an in-depth look. Having been around since 1997, Atelier is one of the more long-running Japanese game series.

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland

Atelier Rorona is one of the weirdest games ever made. Just by looking at the box one can assume that they are in for a cute and delicious RPG with cel shaded characters and environments that shine with artistic flair and anime eye-candy. The good news is that the assumption would be correct.

Atelier Rorona Plus Review: I'm excited about cabbages

The Atelier series is a bit of a black sheep in the JRPG scene, well-known for being a middle-ground for multiple genres. Even a brief glance speaks volumes about the game: a cast of cute, young girls knocks many of the more extreme forms of conflict from the narrative checklist; its colorful art...

I like this game. It is my first atelier game, and I dont normally play that type of game. But I really liked the lightness of it, it's a great break from action and difficult titles that I am used to playing. The characters are the main part of this game I think, and they are great.

A great exercise in time management and strategy.

Atelier Rorana is not your typical console fare, but it is a game excursion well worth your time. Although seemingly simple on the outside, underneath the anime art style lies an engaging romp through a colorful exercise in time management.

By the time I'm making this review Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru were out, and Atelier Ayesha is soon to come out. I played Atelier Totori first, then tried this one, and I have to say you are not missing anything by skipping this game in case you played Totori.

atelier Rorona

I really enjoy the game play in Atelier Rorona, although the in game conversations can drag on a bit. Game play is very much like Dragon Quest meets Harry Potter in that very pretty Japanese manga way. The only reason I gave it a 3 star was because it was short.

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland PS3 Review

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland might very well see a world under threat, which is hardly a unique premise for an RPG in itself, but hold your horses, it's not the world at large this time that is facing destruction, but rather heroine Rorolina Frixell's (commonly known as Rorona) personal...
