A great exercise in time management and strategy.

Atelier Rorana is not your typical console fare, but it is a game excursion well worth your time. Although seemingly simple on the outside, underneath the anime art style lies an engaging romp through a colorful exercise in time management.

Fun but flawed

So, another Atelier game has finally come out... It probably doesn't mean much to most people, let me inform you. The Atelier games follow alchemists, men and women who can manipulate elements and items to create a range of different foods, weapons, objects etc and this is no different.

2010's Atelier Rorona gets an overhaul with an all-new Plus version. Cheap cash-in or an opportunity to fix the issues of the original? Pete takes an in-depth look. Having been around since 1997, Atelier is one of the more long-running Japanese game series.

JRPG of the year

Atelier Rorona is by no means a perfect experience, but it's pretty darn close. The game continues the addictive alchemy-focused gameplay of Annie, while the charm and atmosphere really make the game come alive.

Hail to Whatever You Found in the Sunlight that Surrounds You

I admit, I'm a new fan to the Atelier series. I tried the Mana Khemia games, but couldn't really get into them. I'm aware they aren't the same as the traditional Atelier games, but I never played Iris , so this was my only knowledge of the series prior.

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland

As a long-time veteran of the series, I had a good idea of what I was getting into when I started Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland . True to the series' roots, Atelier Rorona places a heavy emphasis on item crafting. If you use it, there's a good chance you'll have to make it.

Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland

While this is certainly my first experience with the Atelier series and I have nothing to really compare it to, Atelier Rorona: Alchemist of Arland is one of the best turn-based RPGs that I have played in awhile.
