Great data storage unit. 4 bays loaded with 4TB disk, ability to run each pair as its own Raid 1 mirror. Great syncing ability and easy to configure. Also, great service from the Team at PB Tech in Wellington. Couldn't be happier.

Setup was incredibly easy. I simply put the drives in, and it was away and setting up the RAID in moments. It took about a day for the RAID 5 to be ready, and then I thought I was good to go. Sadly, that is the ONLY aspect of this NAS that has worked well. Connection speeds to all my computers are pitifully slow. Even on a 1megabit connection (which I know isn't fast), the speed varies between 4 and 40 megabytes a second, most of the time averaging around 20. With an impressive set of specs, plenty of NAS enthusiasts are going to be keen on owning one of these. It effectively leapfrogs the glacial increments of other brands and unashamedly aims to be the best Synology alternative.
