Review: Asus Zenfone 2
When it comes to smartphones, what drives your choices? If looks and materials are important to you, the bulky, plastic-shielded Asus Zenfone 2 won't make your shortlist. But if all the stuff under the hood counts for more points, then the gigantic, hulking shape of the device won't matter to you as...- Snappy and rare high-end Intel processors and plenty of RAM
- Handy gestures can launch specific apps from standby
- Fully customizable skin
- Ultra-cheap, considering what you get
- Comes with 5GB of free cloud storage forever, and 100GB of Google Drive storage free for two years
- Large bezels, poor choice of materials, and too large of a body
- So much plastic! Heavy, hard to work with one hand
- Capacitive buttons are not illuminated
- Comes with a ton of redundant apps that are a chore to get rid of
There was much noise made over the past couple of months over ASUS' latest smartphone device, the ASUS Zenfone 2. It is the Taiwanese tech company's latest foray into the smartphone business, and boasts a variety of features that are great to have.

Asus' latest assault on the Android phone comes via the ZenFone 2, the successor to the ZenFone 4, 5 and 6. The previous generation devices had 4-, 5- and 6-inch screens, hence the names. The ZenFone 2 has two different screen sizes, with 5-inch and 5.5-inch variants available.
Featured Review: ASUS ZenFone 2E
Earlier this year, ASUS brought to market a great device at a great price. This was the ASUS ZenFone 2 which brought with it a ton of great specs at a price which firmly cemented itself in the mid-range price spectrum.
At a very affordable $119.99, the price point is definitely the best aspect of the ASUS Zenfone 2E, making this one of the easiest entry points into the world of Android. Not a lot of smartphones feature such a low price tag, and even those that are commonly considered budget-friendly, including the...
- -Design is spartan
- easy to handle -Replacement back cover (black/white) included -Expandable storage -Battery has potential
- but needs power saving modes -Very low price for a smartphone
- -Performance can't handle intensive tasks consistently
- is pretty uneven overall -Internal storage only 8GB -Only 1GB RAM -Camera is very low quality all around -Software is full of features that doesn't fit amount of RAM -Zen UI feels bloated and cartoonish
Asus Zenfone 2 review: RAMbunctious
Initially presented at CES 2015 , the Asus Zenfone 2 – the world's first smartphone to ship with a 64-bit processor and 4 GB of RAM, was a bit of a showstopper. But perhaps the most spectacular part of the Zenfone 2 isn't its specs sheet, but its price: the ''lighter'' version of the Zenfone 2, with...- Incredibly low price
- 4 GB of RAM
- 64-bit CPU
- Customizable ZenUI
- Pixel Master low-light technology
- Premium looks and build quality
- Dual-SIM and microSD card slots
- Fast charging battery: 60% in 40 mins

Asus ZenFone 2
Designing a phone for the middle of the market is tough. A flagship device gets all the bells and whistles, while a low-end device gets the bare minimum to hit its target price. In the middle, however, the OEM needs to find just the right balance between design, features, performance, and price.- Price ? Performance ? Audio quality ? ZenUI
- microSD support ? Dual Active SIM
- Ergonomics ? Display brightness

Launched last year, the ZenFone 5 was intended to be a smartphone with great cost/benefit ratio. In that, it was successful. - 5 MP front camera
- 13 Mp rear camera
- Supports microSD memory card
- Support for two SIM cards
- Supports 4G LTE
- Supports NFC
- Fast battery charge
- Could be thinner
- Does not record movies at 60 fps or at 4K
