Asus ZenScreen Touch (MB16AMT) Review

Two things set the $349.99 Asus ZenScreen Touch (MB16AMT) apart from most every general-purpose mobile monitor we have reviewed. First, it has a touch screen, a feature that it shares with some interactive pen monitors like the Wacom Cintiq 16. Second, it has a built-in battery that recharges, which can be a godsend if you're viewing content from your phone, or if your laptop's battery is low on juice. This 15.6-inch display, which is best for use with Windows computers and Android phones, is feature-rich and a joy to use, and it's our new Editors' Choice for mobile monitors in its size range. It's not cheap, but it's very capable. Zen at Your Fingertips The ZenScreen Touch measures 9 by 14.2 by 0.4 inches, and is housed in a handsome, silver-gray case. At its heart is its 15.6-inch, touch-sensitive 1080p (1,920-by-1,080-pixel) IPS panel. The screen is the same size as those of the Asus ZenScreen MB16ACE, Asus ZenScreen Go (MB16AC), AOC I1601FWUX, and Lepow 15.6-Inch USB-C Portab...

The wisely designed Asus ZenScreen Touch brings touch-input capability, flexible stand options, and an on-the-go internal battery to a 15.6-inch mobile monitor, topping the field.

Gesture-based multi-touch and stylus input; Built-in battery; Comprehensive, easy-to-navigate menus, with mini-joystick for navigation; Good brightness and contrast ratio; Built-in speakers

Pricey for a mobile monitor; Somewhat dull colors; Limited touch support for use with Macs, and none for iOS devices

OK device

I bought myself this screen during Black Friday Sale for $699. It is worth the price and works fine. Little bit mucking around with the drivers to get the auto rotate to work etc. Asus software for the screen keeps crashing every time you reconnect the device, but most of the time it stay's plugged in anyway so it doesnt bother me. The USB C connection cable socket on the screen side is a bit worrying though, after just a month of use it's already starting to show signs of wear and the cable does not sit in the socket firmly any more.

Does what it should

I bought this at the beginning of the year (2020). When I upgraded my laptop to a Lenovo and had USB-C to USB-C connect, the battery on the screen has never run out. (With my previous laptop the screen lasted 6-8 hours depending on settings). ...view more

Not worth the price

I bought this about a week before lock down as work was going to be from home anyway for a while. Love the fact it doesn’t have to be plugged in to power and the flexibility of being able to take it everywhere but the touchscreen doesn’t work with any of mine or my families touch screen computers so not work the money at all. Should have saved $ and got the non touch one

Beware of this monitor! Very poor product

I have now had 2 of these monitors and they both are faulty!!! The first one worked really well for almost 1 week. It was easy to set up and I thought it was brilliant. BUT, then, it just stopped working. Yet, a 'green' light was always displayed. The menu did not activate and, while the computer could detect the monitor, the monitor did not display anything. So, I ordered another one, thinking that it must just be a fault with this one. I thought, what are the chances that I would have a problem with a replacement monitor of the same model. It arrived and doesn't work at all!! It charges fine and is responsive to the 'power' button bu...view more

Expensive but very nice

I bought this three days before COVID-19 lockdown so I could have a second screen for my work laptop. There are a couple of additional benefits to this screen that make it worth it: 1) it can be powered by the same USB C cable that delivers the video signal and sound (subject to your laptop supporting this) 2) it has a mini-HDMI port, allowing you to connect many kinds of devices to it including phones 3) it has a built in battery The other main draw for me is the compact size and small amount of desk space it takes up compared to a regular monitor. Our kitchen table now has two office workers on it, and we're a bit short of space. T...view more
