ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q G-SYNC Monitor Review

Asus' ROG Swift PG278Q G-Sync monitor reviewed

I keep telling you that you need to see this thing in action for yourself-in order to appreciate G-Sync, in order to grasp how decent a "good TN" panel can be. Earlier, then, I pointedly directed you to try out the PG278Q in person if you didn't want to end up buying one.

ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q 27-in Monitor Review - NVIDIA G-Sync at 2560x1440

It's really easy to fall in love with the ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q monitor when you start using it. The build quality of the display is top notch and, even though it has the TN moniker on it, the quality and viewing angles are better than you're going to expect.

My review

picture quality was okay if you're gonna spend this amount of money or finance it I think it's worth it, I hope Asus goes further with 240ghz at 1440p someday, at 1440p @165ghz My MSI 2080 Trio handles this goddess of a monitor with out even having breakfast yet, most my games run around 80 -130FPS...

One Bright Pixel! Annoying and not Unwarrantable.

I bought this display and finally hooked it up after my 30 day return period to find one bright pixel, could not return it and it doesn't meet ASUS return/warranty policy for bright pixels. The bright pixel is RED and 3/4" left of dead center, making it extremely visible while gaming. Super annoyed.

I guess I got one of the good ones.

Like the title says, I guess I got one of the good ones. I read all of those bad reviews and still ended up purchasing this. I'm about 7 months in with absolutely no issues at all. Fingers crossed I don't run into problems.

-Great colors and viewing angles for a TN panel; -Anti-Glare is not noticeable once you get used to the monitor in my opinion; -Super easy to use menus; -Comes up from sleep extremely quickly; -Image looks amazingly sharp, as well as the design

-Some back light bleed when the screen is 100% black, but otherwise not noticeable; It's to be expected with a monitor of this size; Not quite worth putting as a con; I only saw it because I was looking for it

ASUS ROG PG278Q Swift G-Sync Monitor Review

ASUS aren't exactly new to the monitor world. In fact two of our favourite monitors of all time are ASUS models, including the very recently reviewed 4K screen that was extremely good value.

Asus ROG Swift PG278Q 144hz G-Sync Monitor (w/ GTX 780Ti ROG Matrix)

Today we review the highly anticipated Asus ROG Swift PG278Q. This 27 inch Nvidia G-SYNC monitor runs at WQHD 2560×1440 resolution, features a 144hz refresh rate and a 1ms (gtg) response time to cater to the most demanding gamer.

Super smooth motion at the highest settings; well thought out interface system – we love the nipple/joystick system; build quality; strongest; most versatile monitor stand system we have seen; very good ‘out of the box' setup

The cost will be too prohibitive for many; AMD users will need to buy Nvidia hardware to take advantage of G-SYNC; Be prepared to invest in expensive graphics hardware if you want consistent 100+ frame rates at 1440p in the latest DX11 games; Only $799 in America but £720 in UK ($1235)

The blacks are washed out grey and the viewing angle is so low. guys my £100 benq has a better picture than this thing. avoid. all dark games just look muddy and poor quality. £550 is a joke of a price. I will try the ips version next and if no good i will refund and avoid Asus monitors.
