ASUS' RT line of routers has developed a reputation for outstanding speeds and high quality, and the company has made significant improvements with each generation. The $219 ASUS RT-AC68U is the current result of that refining process.

Asus continues its long line of excellence with the RT-AC68U. The router is feature-rich, so much so that many users probably won't need the plethora of features it offers: users that don't benefit from things like VPN and dual-WAN support might want to look into one of Asus' cheaper models.
With only two AC1900 routers to show, the Router Ranker results are pretty uninteresting. But for the record, they show the NETGEAR R7000 Nighthawk in the #1 position and the ASUS RT-AC68U as number 2.
The networking market is in continuous transformation and through an ongoing process of auto-discovery. Routers and other type of networking equipment have evolved from delivering basic functionality to huge throughput numbers and creative technologies.
