Asus ROG Phone 3 review

The Asus ROG Phone 3 is a fantastic phone, with top-tier specs and perks that even non-gamers will love, like a 6,000mAh battery and smooth 144Hz display. Its unique features, like AirTriggers and clip-on accessories, could improve anyone’s gaming, though they’ll have to fiddle with the software to activate them. On the other hand, its gamer-centric software and looks won’t appeal to all, and its cameras leave something to be desired. It’s the most mainstream gamer phone to come out in awhile, but typical consumers may value photography over playtime. For the gamers out there, though, there’s no better machine.

Absolute best specs in phones; 6,000mAh battery and 144Hz screen appreciable by non-gamers, too; AirTriggers are neat;

So-so cameras; AirTriggers and other gaming features only work with select games; No wireless charging

A spec beast but lacks in the camera compared to other flagships

My needs were a great battery and performance. It ticks both of the boxes that's why I choose this over the note 20 ultra. Pros - 1. Battery is amazing, once fully charged it will last you an easy day to 2 depending on your usage. I used a note 8 in the past and this phone just gives me the peace of mind that no matter what I do with this phone all day it will last me atleast a day even with extra heavy usage. Screen time of around 7-9 hours. 2. Speakers are loud and bassy. 3. Refresh rate - once you start using a 120hz screen you wont go back to old 60 hz. Cons - 1. No headphone jack. 2. Camera i...view more

Asus ROG Phone 3 Review

Asus made its first foray into mobile gaming less than two years ago with the original ROG (Republic of Gaming) Phone. It was a solid first attempt, no doubt, but a niche one. Fast-forward to 2020, and the ROG Phone 3 ($999.99) is an entirely different story. Sure, it's still a gaming phone first and foremost—and gamers will go wild for its low touch latency, fast screen refresh, and gaming-specific software and buttons—but it also packs best-in-class hardware, a 5G modem, a smooth AMOLED display, and truly impressive audio quality, giving it more widespread appeal. The ROG Phone 3 doesn't support wireless charging, nor does it have an IP rating to indicate a level of protection from water and dust. Hardcore gamers, however, will likely be willing to forgive these omissions, because the ROG Phone 3 gets just about everything else right and wins our Editors' Choice award.Superb Design and Display, Not Matched by Durability The first two ROG Phones looked a little gaudy for the non-...

Boasting top-notch hardware, a terrific display, and great audio quality, the Asus ROG Phone 3 sets a high bar for smartphone gaming.

Super-fast hardware; Smooth AMOLED display; Powerful audio quality

Not waterproof or IP rated; No wireless charging; Mediocre cameras

Asus ROG Phone 3 review: At the top of its game

Asus showed how seriously it takes mobile gaming with last year’s launch of the Republic of Gamers-branded ROG Phone 2, which was packed with tech and features specifically engineered to help improve gameplay. Now it’s back with the ROG Phone 3. Externally, not much has changed, and if anything, the space-age design has become less showy — but the story is different inside. The difference the internals make is remarkable. It’s so powerful that if Thanos played PUBG Mobile, he’d do so on an ROG Phone 3. Let’s get into it. The ROG Phone 3 shares a similar look, and an almost identical size, with the ROG Phone 2, but with the sci-fi madness ever so slightly toned down. The glass back is shiny rather than matte, and the exposed vents slashed into the back of the ROG Phone 2 have gone, replaced by a cool transparent section showing the new cooling system inside. I’ve not seen glass transition between transparent and dark like this before, and it looks superb. Despite its exterior, the ROG P...

Incredibly powerful; Stunning sound; Focused, useful gaming features; Large, smooth screen; Great software;

Camera could be better; Heavy;
