Great Motherboard

Fantastic Motherboard for current and future builds. There are no bottlenecking on this with current parts; and most likely none for any future parts.

Asus ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) Review

If you're buying the ultimate CPU in a given family, sometimes you want the ultimate motherboard to stretch it. The $379.99 ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) is one of Asus' elite AMD X570 boards that targets enthusiast gamers and overclockers. It's not to the level of Asus' over-the-top ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Formula(Opens in a new window), but it's several hundred bucks less and offers all you could want in an overclocking mobo apart from integrated liquid cooling. The software presented some install hiccups, but that's a modest quibble. The feature loadout and understated look should please builders looking to build out an AMD-based desktop based on a core-rich third-gen Ryzen CPU, such as the Ryzen 9 3900X. Just know that you need to leverage a bunch of performance-minded stuff—PCI Express 4.0, the overclocking—to make it a workable value. Aesthetics: Easy on the RGB Like most high-end motherboards today, the X570 ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) is built on a black PCB...

Packing Wi-Fi 6 support and a heap of tweaker creature comforts, the Asus ROG X570 Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) is an excellent cutting-edge AM4 motherboard for gaming and overclocking on AMD's latest-gen Ryzen CPUs.

Tons of ports, including a dozen rear-panel USBs; Easy access to M.2 slots with PCI Express 4.0 support; Solid power delivery and cooling hardware; Feature-rich BIOS; Intel AX200-based Wi-Fi 6 onboard

A few balky motherboard utilities
