Asus RT-AC68U Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router
If you're looking for an 802.11ac router with great range and throughput, Asus' RT- AC68U Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router ($199.99) topped our tests on both measures. It's also got solid small business features and a highly polished interface.- Topped our speed and range tests in 802.11ac mode
- Advanced features suited for small business
- Clean, polished user management interface
- Not much benefit over previous models for networks with only 802.11n wireless clients
- No automatic notification of new firmware
- Non-removable stand
Asus DSL-AC68U review
The design may not be to everyone's taste, but this ADSL / VSDL modem router offers a good balance of performance, usability and price. Here's our Asus DSL-AC68U review.
"Rootin'-tootin' fastest WiFi in the west... side of my house."
I have so many things to review, so many things this month that I am completely spoilt for choice, but right now the best gadget in my life is this wonderful contraption I have recently procured from PC World, so I shall start with that.- Really fast
- great VPN speeds
- stealth mode..
- Quite expensive
ASUS RT-AC68U Wireless-AC1900 Dual-Band Gigabit Router
Brilliant router works great out of the box but as we have 2 xbox ones in the household I installed dd-wrt firmware and this router is just amazing, wifi reaches every corner of the house at super fast speeds at 5ghz. I knew from reviews what i was buying, every home should have one.- Top Notch Router
- nothing
I Love this router!
I ordered this router to replace a TP-LINK TP-WR841N which never really worked well. I intended to load DD-WRT on this product, but after receiving the RT-AC68U and using the factory firmware, I really liked it. So far I haven't found anything that it can't do.
Great service from BT - not a great product
Permanent VDSL disconnects with any settings. Asus are firing out firmware updates like there's no tomorrow, but still extremely unstable. Returned and refunded by BT - top class service. Replaced with the RT-AC87U (also from BT Shop), working with an Openreach modem, all AOK.
Review: Asus' 802.11ac modem-router brings its A-game
Asus has made a name for itself in the router game, typically providing high-performance units with plenty of flexibility. The DSL-AC68U continues the tradition. It's rated at 1,900Mbps -- that is, a single 802.11AC stream capable of 1,300Mbps, combined with a 2.4GHz stream rated up to 600Mbps.- Asus continues its strong showing with its high performing, extensively optioned router
- Its VDSL capability could mean future-proofing for some
- The price will sting
- and for those with USB plans
- you only get one port
Wifi useless
These are garbage - constant whiff dropouts no matter what solution I try. Best left alone.
ASUS RT-AC68U & PCE-AC68 Wireless AC Review
With the wireless spectrum starved for bandwidth, the steady move towards the next generation 802.11AC standard couldn't be coming at a better time. ASUS has been at the forefront of this movement from day one and their new AC68-series (consisting of the RT-AC68U and PCE-AC68) builds upon their...
ASUS RT-AC68U and Linksys EA6900 review
Until recently, the fastest 802.11ac routers were labeled 'AC1750' or something along those lines. That refers to the combined theoretical bandwidth of the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz bands. On 2.4 GHz that is 450 Mbps and on 5 GHz that is 1.3 Gbps.
