Quick and easy to both setup and use, this Chromebox exceeds expectations.
I work from home and only need a solid browser. I did my first shift with this last night and was very pleased. It was super fast to set up, easily populated my existing Chrome accounts and associated information and links. Startup is so fast, no waiting for Windows to start up, no lagging.
I am sure many of our readers are familiar with ASUS motherboards and graphics cards. You might be less familiar with their Chromebox lineup – a range of mini-PCs that run ChromeOS, not Windows.
There's a few variants of ASUS Chromebox 3, depending on how much money you want to spend. The main difference between the models is the CPU (ranging from Celeron 3865U to i3 7100, i4 8250 and i7 8550) and RAM (4GB up to 16GB); the same differentiators as for the previous iterations of the ASUS...
Chromebooks have obvious appeal. Secure, cheap and portable, they're a compelling alternative to Windows laptops. They also suffer from none of those annoying Windows Update problems: you can pick one up after months and it will just work.
