Asus Eee PC 1215B

Not everyone can be a brilliant stand-out in the crowded netbook category, but even a plain package with the right parts inside can still be a smart purchase. Though it isn't winning any awards for all-day battery-life or outstanding performance, the Asus Eee PC 1215B ($450 street) is a competent...
Cons:
  • Keyboard is small
  • Battery life is a little short

Good bang for the buck.

I've looked for a 12 in netbook for a long time and finally decided on my 1215B-MU17. I didn't want to carry around a big bulky 15in, and 13in laptops didn't seem that much smaller. Ten inch was too small, so 12 inch is a perfect compromise.

Superb net-book

I ordered this on Tuesday and asked for next day delivery. It arrived on Wednesday at 10:30am so I was impressed with the service of delivery. The net-book is a very good size and having the larger screen makes a big difference. I have the black version which looks very nice and is easy to carry.

This gem of a notebook has now been available for over a year yet still nothing else can match it in terms of performance, weight, screen resolution and portability. It might not seem much but 2 gigs of RAM and a 1.8 dual core atom makes all the difference compared with the standard (and woefully...
Pros:
  • Packs a mighty punch for a notebook
Cons:
  • key flex

  • Gets a tad slow at times
  • and could do with a bigger memory

So much worse than my expectation. Horrible drivers make the ION2 graphics almost worthless. After trying more driver versions than I can remember, I had to settle with an outdated version from the ASUS website.

Overall it does what I need it to do. It just doesn't seem to be as responsive as my other eeepc with the Atom processor.

Asus 1215N - simply the best netbook you can buy

I was super exicted to see ASUS finally put out a dual core netbook with the new Nvidia ION2 graphics card in it - I just purchased this about 3 weeks ago, and I am loving every minute I have with this machine! First note - this is NOT a laptop!
