This game is so terrible. Rewritten combat system, glitchy AI, absolutely no storyline. I'm so upset that I even considered buying this game. Please don't waste the effort or brainpower to open this game up. Absolute garbage.

The story and game play is much better than I expected. Haven't run into any bugs or glitches, either. Combat and movement are very smooth as well

Bought this the other month. Visuals are stunning and combat mechanics have been revitalised to give this latest release in the franchise a breath of fresh air! Map is huge and the graphical attention to detail is stunning.

A soft reboot for Assassin's Creed seems to be just what was needed, but does this new game go far enough

The setting is very well realised, with impressive attention to historical detail; Plenty of content and the hawk is a lot of fun to use; Loser structure is definitely a benefit

Movement always feels clumsy and imprecise, especially in combat; Dull open world environment and story; Restrictive levelling system and far too many bugs

During the time last year when Ubisoft didn't release a title in its Assassin's Creed series for the first time since 2007, the developer took the entire formula back to the drawing board, throwing out virtually everything except the idea that you're a person in a hood who assassinates bad guys.

ARK: Survival Evolved was probably the harshest introduction to a game that I've ever experienced. With little in the way of a tutorial or mission markers, I was dropped onto an island with nothing but my wits and scavenging abilities and tasked with surviving in a harsh and unforgiving environment.

Ubisoft comes in for a lot of criticism from certain quarters of the gaming community, but (most of) it really isn't justified. Assassin's Creed is a good example of how they seem to be listening to fans to help shape the games they make.
