A soft reboot for Assassin's Creed seems to be just what was needed, but does this new game go far enough

The setting is very well realised, with impressive attention to historical detail; Plenty of content and the hawk is a lot of fun to use; Loser structure is definitely a benefit

Movement always feels clumsy and imprecise, especially in combat; Dull open world environment and story; Restrictive levelling system and far too many bugs

Now that the game is out, we'll try to answer some of the major questions that most of you surely have, like whether or not it was worth the wait and what exactly the new title sub-dubbed "Origins" means for the series.

Stunning; accurate world depicting Ancient Egypt; Gorgeous graphics; Exploring Egypt can be extremely rewarding; Mounted combat; Animal companion is actually useful

Lackluster main story; Terribly written side quests; Rough combat mechanics; Too much "filler" content; Totally uninspired RPG elements

I wasn't the biggest of fans of the assassins creed series, after playing the first game on release, and finding it not all I thought it would be due to the breaking of immersion between the point in history and the way it kept thrusting you into modern day.

Absolutely love this game. The graphics are stunning, game play is super smooth and not clunky at all unlike the previous games. Lot's of attention to detail and a very rich world.

Bought this the other month. Visuals are stunning and combat mechanics have been revitalised to give this latest release in the franchise a breath of fresh air! Map is huge and the graphical attention to detail is stunning.

Like so many big-budget extravaganzas, Assassin's Creed Origins is an attempt to perfectly triangulate the three corners of open-world game design: environment simulation, storytelling and gameplay.

This game will blow you away. Its incredible detail to everything is breathtaking!! You could play this game for years as there is so much to do in this open world.

Huge open world, lots to do and explore, I can't put this down

Bought this for the lil' bro over the Xmas period and he loves it. Tried it after he beat the game (Great gifts that follow through) and enjoyed the *** out of it. Would recommend to anyone to add to their library so long as they buy it from MightyApe because their service is on point.
