Apple Watch Series 7 review: Solid and capable, but not groundbreaking
It’s another year of small incremental updates to the Apple Watch. Is the Apple Watch Series 7 still the best smartwatch for iPhone users? And is it a worthy upgrade?- Larger expansive display, Iconic case design, Excellent build quality, Great health and fitness tracking, ECG capability, Faster charging, Lots of strap options
- No significant new features, Needs to be recharged daily, Charging requires specialised puck, Only works with iPhone
Apple Watch Series 7 GPS, 41mm (PRODUCT)RED Aluminium Case with (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band - Regular MKN23X/A review
With more screen real estate, improved durability, and faster charging, the Apple Watch Series 7 retains its crown as the best smartwatch on the market.- Larger display than previous models, Faster charging, Improved durability, New watch colors and faces
- No major feature updates from last generation, One-day battery life remains the same
Apple Watch Series 7 (41MM, Starlight) - Excellent review
It’s worth pointing out that the Apple Watch isn’t just a watch. All a regular timepiece has to do is keep time, and maybe a couple of other functions. An Apple Watch (and every other smartwatch) will end up doing a whole lot more.- Great looking wearable, Easily one of the best screens for any smartwatch, Larger display helps to make the Apple Watch stand out and feel iconic, Excellent health set trickled over from the Series 6
- Battery still struggles to hit a day, Still only works with the iPhone, Expensive, No major reason to upgrade: the only major differences between the S6 and the S7 are the screen size and a couple of new watch faces
Apple Watch Series 7 GPS, 41mm (PRODUCT)RED Aluminium Case with (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band - Regular MKN23X/A review
If you're rocking an older Apple Watch or are interested in upgrading from the Apple Watch SE, the Series 7 is a great package.- Larger display looks great, Battery life is excellent, App Store remains unrivalled
- Not a significant upgrade over the Series 6, Design is still similar to previous Apple Watches, Pricey
Apple Watch Series 7 (41MM, Starlight) - Excellent review
Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, the Apple Watch Series 7 is the best smartwatch out there. The...- The bigger display makes things easier to see and read. Fast charging. It's the best smartwatch for iPhone users.
- Battery life is still one day. Design changes are too subtle.
Apple Watch Series 7 review
It might not be the redesign some had hoped for, but the larger display really makes a difference to the Apple Watch experience on offer - and improved charging speeds are a nice touch too. There isn't enough here for Series 6 owners to upgrade, but it'll provide a nice change for older Apple Watch owners and those new to the wearable.- Fast charging speeds
- Noticeably larger display
- A feature-packed software experience
- Same 18-hour battery life
- No new sensors
Apple Watch Series 7 GPS, 41mm (PRODUCT)RED Aluminium Case with (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band - Regular MKN23X/A review
The Apple Watch Series 7 uses its bigger screen to great effect, giving a genuine upgrade over older models or the Apple Watch SE. It's a beautiful, fast and truly useful premium smartwatch, and is easily the best of its kind for iPhone owners.- Bigger screen, smaller bezels, Fast to charge, Very slick to use, Easy health & fitness features
- Battery life is still 1 day, Sleep tracking still weak, Limited for hardcore fitness users
Apple Watch Series 7 review: The best smartwatch you can buy, by far
The Apple Watch Series 7 might just be the perfect smartwatch. Sorry to give the game away this early, but there are no secrets or surprises here — and that’s a good thing. A smartwatch should be an extension of your smartphone, yet also needs to be able to function reliably and usefully on its own. It should provide extensive, motivational, and informative health and activity tracking without alienating those who aren’t athletes. It should look great, and be easily customized to match your mood, style, and environment. It shouldn’t require constant supervision or have complex or gimmicky features that overshadow basic everyday usefulness. New models need to also improve over the previous version, so everyone can consider upgrading if they want. The Apple Watch Series 7 delivers all this and more. Let’s talk about it. It’s pretty much impossible to tell the difference between the Series 7 and the Series 6 just by glancing at them. The 1mm increase in case size — 45mm and 41mm for the S...- Large screen, small bezels
- Easily personalized
- Choice of models and sizes
- Comprehensive health tracking
- Reliable software and notifications
- Fast charging
- Stronger and tougher than before
- Only works with the iPhone
Apple Watch Series 7 GPS, 41mm (PRODUCT)RED Aluminium Case with (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band - Regular MKN23X/A review
Despite appearances this is a pretty big leap for Apple Watch, and the new display is killer.- Awesome larger display, Faster charging, All-day battery life, Always-on now brighter
- No new health features, Limited upgrade over Series 6
Apple Watch Series 7 (41MM, Starlight) - Excellent review
Apple’s yearly update has given the Apple Watch Series 7 a bigger display amid other refinements – but is it worth upgrading?- New size is very welcome, Brilliantly bright display, New colour cases, So many watch face options
- Watch SE better value for many, Fast charging requires specific cable, Battery life could be better
