The Apple Watch Series 4 and Samsung Galaxy Watch faceoff

If you take a look at the smartwatch market, Apple and Samsung are currently the two manufacturers that stand out most from the crowd. And it's exactly these two that have now launched new models, the Watch Series 4 and the Galaxy Watch , respectively, which of course are supposed to be better than...

Apple Watch Series 4 Stainless Steel (44mm, Space Grey, Cellular) - Excellent review

“It looks like you’re working out,” the watch face reads. That’s followed by a big, yellow button, suggesting I start an indoor run. I tap the neon button and the clock starts, comping me a reasonable approximation of the time it took for the Watch to be sure what sort of activity it was detecting.

Apple Watch Series 4

The Apple Watch Series 4 contains the most significant improvements since the Series 2 brought onboard GPS to the smartwatch. Most notable out of all the new features are fall detection and ECG readings, as these have the potential to change people's lives or, quite literally, save them.
Pros:
  • Bigger
  • better screen
  • All old Watch bands fit on the Series 4
  • Good battery life
  • Faster performance
  • Fall detection has the potential to be lifesaving
  • ECG features give users more control to monitor their health on a daily basis
  • Accurate auto workout detection and ending feature
  • WebKit support...
Cons:
  • ECG app isn't available yet
  • WatchOS 5 drops support for Series 0 devices

Apple Watch Series 4 Review: Bigger Screen and a Whole Lot More

After two weeks with my Apple Watch Series 4 I'm still glad I bought it, and I was upgrading from the very capable Apple Watch Series 3. The big thing for me right now is the larger and brighter display. The stronger haptic feedback and louder speaker are nice plusses, too.
Pros:
  • Bigger and brighter watch face
  • new heart rate sensors
  • better speaker
  • old watchbands still fit
Cons:
  • Auto-sensing for ending some workouts is too aggressive
  • stainless steel models are available only with Wi-Fi plus LTE
  • settings like Theater Mode still don't mirror between iPhone and Apple Watch
  • battery life not good enough for back country use

Apple Watch Series 4 Stainless Steel (44mm, Space Grey, Cellular) - Excellent review

If one were to pull out a feature comparison of the Apple Watch Series 4 versus the Series 3, specific to sports and fitness, they’d likely just go ‘shrug’. Ultimately, the differences just aren’t there in the hardware side of things.

Watch Series 4: What price 'freedom' About as much as you'd expect from an Apple product

One non-obvious point arises from using a range of wearables and it isn't mentioned often enough. While the iPhone may not be the best phone (let's park that argument), the combination of iPhone and Watch trumps any other combination.
