Review of the Apple Watch

It's hard to justify purchasing an Apple Watch, considering how redundant a device it really is. In most cases, the Watch costs more than the iPhone is it designed to complement. Imagine paying more for a full-featured remote control than your actual TV.

Apple Watch hands-on review

I had a £11,500 Apple Watch Edition strapped to my wrist today. Rose gold. 38mm. Rose gray strap that felt like butter, with a modern buckle also in solid 18-carat gold. It was beautiful.

Apple Watch review: the comprehensive WIRED verdict

When Guy Sémon, Tag Heuer general director, told Wired back in March that the Apple Watch was not a watch but a connected device for the wrist , he was more or less correct. But this is not a bad thing.

Design; 'haptic' interface; Siri performs well

Lacklustre launch apps; time checking is problematic; expensive

Apple Watch Review – Controversially compelling

To call the Apple Watch polarizing is to do the splenetic depths of online argument around it an injustice. For the past few weeks I've been living in the eye of that storm, the contentious wearable on my wrist. I've worked with it. I've traveled with it. I've exercised with it.

I was supposed to review the Apple Watch . That was the plan, but then, when Engadget had its first chance to test the device, I was on vacation. Specifically, I was in France, where I ran the Paris Marathon, my sixth 26.2-mile race in five years.

Apple Watch Review

The Apple Watch is the best smartwatch we've used, and the first that feels friendly and has character. Watch OS 2.0 adds needed app and Siri abilities.

Unique communication methods make it special; Attractive design in multiple sizes; Notification taps are subtle; Setup is a breeze; Watch OS 2.0 fixes some app problems

Third-party apps crash; Software has a learning curve; One-day battery life

Apple Watch Review: Smartest Watch Yet

The Apple Watch is a versatile smartwatch with a great display, rich array of features and strong app selection, and the watchOS 2 update adds lots of enhancements.

Highly customizable design with easy-to-change bands; Native apps with watchOS 2; Beautiful display; Good use of haptics for notifications; directions; Seamless Apple Pay integration; Can make voice calls

Takes time to learn interface; Time isn't always displayed; Can be sluggish to update apps; No GPS

Apple Watch review updated a year on: still the best smartwatch around

The Apple Watch certainly wasn't the first smartwatch, but it was the most well-known and popular. We've been wearing one the best part of a year now, and it's changed significantly since then. In fact, the sector as a whole has changed.

Great design; Lovely screen; Accurate voice recogntion

Hard to learn interface; Limited useful apps

Apple Watch Review

So how has our experience with the Apple Watch been so far Well, it hasn't been too different then with any other smartwatch. You get notifications, it allows you to keep your watch in your pocket, unless it's something important, it's more discreet, you get a gentle tap on the wrist, unlike a...

Lovely design; Pressure-Sensitive display; Taptic Engine; Apple Pay; A large array of sensors

Low battery life; Expensive; Slow at times; A rather steep learning curve; Some features are less intuitive
